  1. A month ago us Kings fans thought the same about our team. The hockey Gods are cruel.

  2. Morrison wasn’t an excellent first line center, he was a guy who fit well between 2 of the best wingers in hockey.

Ideally he would have been bumped down a line by a better center.

Ideally they would have replaced cloutier and won a ring.

  3. 2011 felt like the year if you bet on the Canucks you'll going to win almost every night. The finals it did feel it was psychological more than the Bruins beating them physically.

I do think this team is the strongest it's every been but I do fear that the centre depth will come back to haunt them especially if they keep the Lotto line together the rest of the way.

  4. This team feels more rookie than the 2010-11 cup run team. I am not sure what you're smoking Shannon, maybe in a year or two if the core stays together were looking at Colorado or Vegas light but at this point I'm just enjoying the Cinderella run! I was expecting a cup in 2010-11, this year I think we're all surprised and just hoping for a decent playoff push.

  5. Good vid. I do get why you are so cautious. I would love to see a Boston vs Canucks rematch in the finals but more realistically if I had to put money on it I would say Vancouver/Florida finals. If that happens. You. Better. Beat. Them.

I don't hate many teams. I hate the Panthers.

  6. I felt the same with the Avs 2 years ago. Seemed like they were on a mission and MacKinnon was not gonna be denied.

  7. Definitely counting my chickens before they hatch, but there's so much promise with an all Canadian semi-finals with one obvious exception. Then watch the Rangers break all Canadian's hearts.

  8. This is the best team the Canucks have ever had!! What all other teams in Canucks history lacked until now…. A elite producing… Norris Potential dman like Hughes….. He has already broken the regular season Canucks point total by a dman what 2/3 consecutive years…… If that’s not deadly enough they have arguably the 2nd best Dman they’ve ever had in Hronek…..They’ve also add some rather big D to surround this new elite d pairing. (They all play a role and serve purpose) Miller and Pettersson are performing at well over a point a game pace…. On pace to finish the season similar to Canucks greatest point season by a individual player. I believe the record is 112? ….Pettersson already a 100 point year while Miller a 99 point season…. The top end talent is entering its prime. The Elite management has added the right pieces to round the forward core into a overall elite roster…… but…with Pettersson and Hronek set to get sizeable raises this is the best this team will most likely look….. Take a Shot at the deadline!

  9. I was 19 in 1994… no doubt this is our best team… so hope 2024 is the year…24,25 or 26 is likely our best shot in history … pls 🙏🏻just once before 6 feet under and we will go down with a smile💯👊🏻🇨🇦

  10. This team is just learning to play together. I don't think we have seen their best hockey. Ive seen every team since 82. This is a team that will add a rental. And maybe the best coaching staff top to bottom ever.

  11. This years Canuks are one of the most talented Canuck rosters I have watched in a long time (and I have been watching for a long time). IMO It is to early to say if they are the best ever. I find it seems to take at least a few years after the fact before I can really pass judgement on a team. The 2nd half of the season should really expose a teams weaknesses and strengths. GO NUCKS.

  12. I'm still super cautious on them because like you said, they can easily fall off a cliff and it wouldn't be surprising to anyone (although it is starting to feel like they are for real the past few weeks). In 2011 it would be a shock for them to lose a game and they were just built so well with enough depth that injuries could be managed. These days it's not really a shock if they lose, in fact i'm still mystified how the few additions/subtractions they made excelled them into the top 5 in the league compared to last season.

  13. Been following the Canucks since 88-89 and I think this is the most talented team they've ever had, but I'm not sure they have the absolute winning pedigree of the 10-11 team. Back-to-back President's Trophies weren't an accident.

  14. I must admit I was having a hard time focusing on the board with the photo of that babe on the wall just above. 😂 Does anyone know who that is? I need to know for… uh… research purposes.

  15. Jim Benning redemption arc when his team finally comes together and he gets all the praise…

  16. I became a fan of the canucks and bailed on my home team the oilers (can’t stand the management )
2003 team honestly was amazing… if we had any sort of goaltending… clutes couldn’t same a beach ball when needed and they had a couple years of proof.
    O well

  17. I want to believe let’s believe I want to manifest this we as Canucks fans have to believe

  18. This is definitely the best core they have ever had. To win a cup you need to be good but also lucky. Remember in 2011 injuries killed them in the finals.

  19. With all due respect to previous GMs and Coaches of the Canucks whom I have the upmost respect and gratitude for especially Pat Quinn, Burkie, Nonis and AV, what we currently have behind the bench and sitting up in the press boz, is simply unparalleled; all cup winners which alters the club's culture significantly and that should not be overlooked.

Anyways most of us Canuckleheads were hoping for before the season started was just make the playoffs, nowhere near expecting to lead the division and challenging for conference and league surpremacy. Its UNREAL and like THG, we are all trying to contain our excitement as we all know we have disappointed in the past so we also DO NOT want to JINX it this year!

  20. Keep warm Shannon! I too live in a Lower Mainland house that just causes heat to evaporate as soon as it gets within 5 feet of a wall. It’s definitely colder on your side of the Lower Mainland/in the Valley so I hope you and your family can get through this safely and without so much discomfort. Don’t worry about the set, I think most of your viewers should understand you’re a human being first, their entertainment second.

I think the 91-92 team is very impressive (tho I was not yet alive at the time so I’ve only been able to watch some sporadic games from that season), but man did the 94 team show up in the playoffs. Even that final Game 7 against the Rangers, they were never truly out of that game. They showed up to compete, other than prior and later iterations of the team that were ghosts in game 7.

I think the current team is deeper and more defensively capable than the 2011 team. I like the current bottom 6 much better than 10/11, bonus points for not having guys like Raffi Torres or Rome on the team. I also think most of our star players are just entering their prime and we haven’t seen their peak yet so it’s exciting that they’re playing so well and still have room to grow and mature.

I don’t know if our current tandem is better than Luongo/Schneider (I’d say no right now but playoff performance might change that) or what we saw out of Markstrom/Demko in the bubble had we been able to hold onto both, because I really think Demko’s god tier performance in that Vegas series was him announcing that he was gonna be a Top 10 (minimum) goalie in the league from then on, barring injury. Obviously management picked the right guy to hold on to, but I do wonder if the Canucks could have held it together enough to squeak into the playoffs that next season if we had Markstrom/Demko as a 1A/1B tandem (and practically the entire team NOT getting a covid variant would also have helped).

  21. Talented core group of young players….but that's not enough you also need a coach who knows what it takes to win in this league…wait…they have that too. The sky's the limit for this group and this year is just the beginning. You know whenever I think about 94 I get violently ill…so off to pray to the porcelain god…Thnx for the vid!

  22. West Coast Express 02-03 was their learning curve year. They had a good run and lost. So many teams had a year like that before they won the big prize. 03-04 was their year but… that was the lockout year. And the WCE never regained the heights they had previously. How Canuck-like.

  23. Canucks since the early 80's… im right there with you. But… so far… this season does feel different. Maybe it's just the winning we are not used to seeing. I dunno…. but it's fun again.

  24. I am not saying anything, been there done that. Do not trust the Canucks, not the players.

  25. I think this team has as much or more raw talent as any Canuck team has. These guys are still young and we have some more coming in the pipeline. I say dont get carried away at the deadline but do something frugal and don't give away prospects…

  26. Interesting new backgroud. I prefer the other one with the jersey wall in the back, but I can roll with this, though it looks more plain

  27. Bure never ever had a proprietary center after Igor Larionov was not resigned for what ever fked up reason….later on we signed the Moose instead of looking at available players like Adam Oates, Jeremy Roenick….too the credit of today's management there is a feeling of competence and confidence to the teams plan.

  28. I think this Petey, the Lotto line Petey is every bit as good a player as McKinnon is. Hes had consistent linemates all season. Petey has mostly gotten where he playing with Lafferty and an out of condition Kuzy. Put him with talent and look what happens.

  29. 94. I blame the league for the Canucks loss. The young Canucks were storming back and had evened the series with the older Rangers. Game seven was supposed to be on Saturday but the League moved it to Sunday for the ratings…and gave the old guys on the Rangers an extra day of rest which they needed. Remember the Canucks using a hyperbaric chamber after the games to aid in recovery? I think they faced elimination games every series but refused to lose them.

  30. Ideally you hope canucks win the division and vegas/la/edm in 2nd and 3rd. That way those teams have to eliminate one another and canucks battling 7th or 8th seed.
