    Yet another overtime point taking us further and further from the draft position we need.

    Pretty sure we would be firmly entranched in san jose territory with even league average goaltending. This team just gets dominated game after game

    They got so fucking lucky with that high stick penalty in OT. So unfortunate. Also, a shoutout to John Bartlett and Loui Debrusk, they called a really solid and unbiased game. Way better than that fuckhead Garry Gally.

    The Great :
    Montembeault is IT.

    The Good :
    Great defensive effort by Savard, Matheson, Jake Evans and Monahan against McDavid and Draisaitl all game long.

    Slaf had some good flashes.

    The Bad : 5o5 offense was awful. A lot of forwards were invisible.

    Marty needs to get Matheson in check in overtimes. Tries to do fucking everything by himself and makes the stupidest decisions. YOUR A DEFENSEMAN, PLAY YOUR POSITION. I don’t mind if he’s doing that so much if it’s Evans and Anderson on with him, but when our 2 best forwards are out there you need to defer to them. Your not Bobby Orr my guy.

    New coaching strategy: the instant that Matheson makes a really good play he needs to get off the ice as quickly as possible.

    Really happy with all the overtime/shootout games this season. Means we are in a lot of these games even if some have come at the cost of blowing multiple goal leads. Collecting loser points and not being eliminated from playoff contention around Christmas / New Year’s is nice.

    Nah not blaming the refs tonight. Pens were pens. Monty was a star. Guhle, Evans, Suzuki had solid games. Matheson was great until the penalty. Everyone else was pretty invisible. Gally is dead weight.

    Ole Ole Ole les fefans, McDavid encore invisible contre le CH, il a la pire moyenne de points par match dans sa carrière contre les habs. Crédit au système défensif de Marty. Encore une fois, aucune offensive, manque de finition et de talent, aucun but à 5 vs 5

    After two really poor efforts, this was a solid game. Good to see that.

    Roy looked fine in his debut, though nothing that would stop them from sending him back to Laval whenever Anderson is back, which is probably for the best overall.

    If I see another game where the goalie goes Carey Price Mode only for us to only put up one or two goals and lose in OT I will maybe explode.

    *BAD*

    – I didn’t really like the refs tonight only because it seemed like they would call the habs penalties but oilers got away with stuff. The bad was the timing of the penalties on Matheson & Gallagher.

    *GOOD*

    – A really good game by the habs unfortunately didn’t win the game but overall that’s how they should play. Little complains with anyone’s effort which was good to see after the debacle of the last two games.

    – Suzuki and Caufield had some bad games. Both bounced back with extremely strong performances. Suzuki with a nice pass over to Caufield for the power play goal. The one thing Suzuki can shoot and score from that area he should do that more shooting from there but overall really good games.

    – Evans can’t do anything with the puck but away from it an absolute defensive forward god.

    – Armia continues to show up on the year. Dare I use the word consistent when he isn’t taking penalties.

    – The whole d core was solid. Specifically Guhle was on Mcdavid to which the d core pretty well shut down think he had one shot on the game. I actually think Matheson did pretty well defensively on Mcdavid but unfortunate in the end with the penalty.

    – Monty excellent.

    – They lost but the game was exciting and fun. We can live with that.

    Leafs fan here, just stopping by to say this Montembeault dude is legit. I don’t follow the Habs too much, but he seems to have come out of nowhere. The guy is an absolute stud. I’m jealous.

    First of all, that was a good game. Not great, but a well-played performance.

    Now the downer of this loss: **Mike Matheson**

    Whenever Matheson has the puck, he just drives it, or, when he tries to make defensive plays, he’s always ending up getting a penalty. MSL will have to talk to MM and simplify his game. Its just way too aggressive IMO.
