@Oilers d'Edmonton

1. The Oilers have beaten Vegas, Winnipeg, LA, NYR, Carolina, NYI, Philly and NJD in their recent 18-3 run. All playoff teams. Team is rolling and dominating advanced stats as well

  2. The Goaltending is improved because the Oilers figured out how to play team Defense.

  3. I guess analytics don't lie – the Oil has been on top of the league in terms of analytics since the start of the season, even during the first two months while they sucked. So, it was just a matter of time.

  4. How about those Oilers who had refs fucking helping them? There were about 5 times the Oilers got majorly favored in the 3rd period and OT. The goal was bullshit. The interference call on Evans was bullshit. The Nurse highstick with no contact was bullshit. The Matheson in ot one was also bullshit.

  5. It’s also kinda crazy how the habs are mid this season, and not dogshit. But they’ve slumped below .500 once again and I think it’s gonna stay that way. Celebrini time

  6. I wish people would bring up nuge more he's having a solid season he's never been the shining star but he always been consistent and he's one of the best passers on the team

  7. I swear it's like people forgot that 3 games before this win streak the Oilers had another 8 game win streak that included Vegas, Winnipeg, Carolina, and New Jersey

  8. Not to mention booing McDavid for 1 powerplay, they did it for the entire 3rd AND ot😭

  9. As a lifelong Oilers fan, i love the rivalry between us and the flames, there's a level of respect… The Canucks though lol

  10. Lifelong Flames fan living in Edmonton for 22 years now. Everyone benefits when Alberta hockey is strong. If the Flames can’t win I genuinely want the Oilers to.

  11. The "City of Champions years" started in 1987. The name came from how the community helped each other after a freak tornado. Nothing to do with sports teams.

  12. Skinner is an absolute stud. He realized this team needed saving and he stepped it up big time. We are still bottom of the division without Skinner saving games for us. He's my Oilers MVP this season if he keeps up this unreal form

  13. From Dec -14 1983 thru Jan 13 1984 the Oilers were unbeaten in 13 games. One game was an overtime tie. IF they had shoot-outs back then and the Oilers had won it, that would have been a 13 game winning streak. Then they started the 1985-86 season unbeaten in 15 games, with 3 overtime ties. Again, IF shootouts had been a thing, that was a potential 15-game winning streak. On the flip side, if you count SO wins today the way they did back then, the Oilers are only an a 5-game streak currently, but even that needs an asterisk, since the last two wins were 3-on-3 overtime wins, which the old Oilers didn't have. Records are cool, the current streak is amazing, but the "OMG can't believe it never happened before" hype needs a bit of reality check, IMO.

  14. Like Pronger said. When the opposing team fans boo you for no reason. You're just doing your job too good lol

  15. Oilers may make it to the playoffs, but will NOT under any circumstances have a deep run in the playoffs.

  16. its a good winning streak but there are still weaknesses and most of the teams they are playing are bottom dwellers

  17. I remember the Oilers got grilled for not drafting Jesper Wallstedt when they had the chance. But I felt like they had their future goalie in Stuart Skinner if developed properly. Maybe that can still be the case…

  18. "In the NHL, you can only win the games that are on your schedule. You can't put in a request to face tougher competition."

That might just be the smartest statement I have ever heard from a hockey fan, media member, executive, or player, EVER. Because it's 100% true.

  19. I love the "they played weak teams, it doesn't count." Well explain why your favourite team couldn't beat said weak teams. Move on. Not their fault they can get the job done.

  20. whoever the oilers play always up their game levels. Theres no easy wins it seems, even against bottom dwellers.

  21. born and forever an oilers fan, but I cheer for the flames if they make the playoffs and oilers don't

  22. "easy" teams means nothing in the nhl. The red wings just beat toronto in toronto. Philly also just beat WPG. To take anything away from the oilers being 18-3 in their last 21 is crazy.

  23. oilers have been putting fwd so much effort and given us all pride knowing we are now 8th which is playoff territory.
3 teams are basically tied – so we need to stay focused on sticking right on Nashvills tail.. to get pulled into playoffs.
