  1. The leafs have no leadership. Tavares is not captain material, Keefe gets outcoached every game. But as long as fans keep going to games nothing will change.

  2. It’s always been Sheldon. Consistently out coached in games/series. He has had amazing assets to use. Good at building kids to play but he is mentally too slow to keep up when opposing teams adapt. Cooper vs. Sheldon. Enough said.

  3. I cant stand button, but he is right, our defense is so so shallow. Too much money into our offense in the off season. And tj brodie is absolutely terrible 😂

  4. There is a glaring difference in rosters. It’s zach Hyman a guy who competes at his hardest on every single shift. He’s an absolute game changer a spark plug a leader a team guy. Leafs don’t have a single

  5. Oilers all the way…. McDavid will lift the cup… WE BELIEVE 😎

(oh yeah, the Leafs are a mid league team, Tampa and/or Detroit will flip them over and have them 🤪)

  6. This is a little nuts….aren't they in the top ten in the league? I think the problem is the same as the old problem. Toxic fans and a disgusting media. Nobody else in the league does this to their teams.

  7. Almost like they have no cap space to get better defenseman and better depth…

  8. With the core four dominating the payroll, there’s no opportunity to build a well-balanced championship team. ✔️

  9. Listen Button, some of us are not wearing rose colored glasses, we know what's wrong with this team and it's been the problem since the early 2000s, defense has always been the issue. The Leafs have never had a Norris trophy winner in their history…We are pinning our goaltending hopes on a rookie with 26 games of experience, so, don't worry, we know that things are not lining up for much good…Reilly, Benoit and McCabe are half decent at best but you don't win anything with such a weak bunch of dmen. The 4th line is not even capable of doing what a 4th line is designed to do.

  10. It sounds like Button describes players making dumb plays and is blaming structure? That seems like a personnel problem NOT a coaching problem to me, I mean I can teach you to do a thing all the right ways, but if you refuse to do it is it my fault? And who can Keefe play in their place? They aren't deep enough, as a contender they spend to the cap, the "fix" is moving contracts and blowing up that back end which is waaaay too slow, and repeatedly makes bad plays with the puck.

  11. Everything he just said was spot on…..cant stand how they (especially Marner) never hold themselves accountable…it is absolutely disgusting !!

  12. I agree with Button – they have no structure. I think Keefe's a good coach but maybe they're all getting a little too comfortable. I think one of the 11M players have to go for defensive help. Marner / Robo / Timmins to Calgary for Hanifin, Tanev, Lindholm

  13. the Leafs are a high end sports car, just like the Oilers, and they don't have a good enough driver. Oilers found a new driver, and look how well she's going now.

  14. Their 2 crapiest defensive defence men are their top pair ! They keep hyping Reilly like he’s a world class d man but if you look at Edmonton’s last three goals, who is on the ice ??? Their current 2 best defensive d men are Benoit and Lagesson and sit Lagesson. Merce has no idea how to put lines together .

  15. I said that Keefe should have been gone after the Canadiens, maybe even the Blue Jackets. He is constantly outcoached, whether by rookie or veteran coaches, and after 5 years of having some of the top players in the league, yet with his constant line juggling and postseason failures, it's high time that the team was given a new vision. I'm not even going to get into their defense – that's for another day.

  16. As a leafs fan I'm tired of the same outcome every playoff. I don't care how good this core thinks they are, bottom line they cant win playoff rounds. Fire Sheldon, get some new d men and for the love of god figure it tf out.

  17. Leafs organization team is everything not to be and do , from top management down to players , whole big mess . Too much to ever fix

  18. TToronto has zero leadership. Their players are over paid. Matthew Austin $13.25. That’s ridiculous. We have to pay Petterson over $13mil. Aauugh. Go!Canucks!Go!

  19. I disagree!! I feel the Leafs are JUST ONE MORE $11MILLION DOLLAR FORWARD AWAY from becoming a playoff team!!
