It is amazing to think that he was available, probably in the 9 mill range, and there were no takers Or at least no one that was any good.

  2. A LOT of his numbers are credited to the team defence. Making his workload lighter and easier so he doesn't burn out. But he does makes the saves when they get into trouble.

  3. I Agree Buffalo,NJ,Toronto,Edmonton,Red wings,90% of league would be better with vezina goalie.
And guys left out there are still going to cost teams alot like Gibson,Saros,Fluery,Markstrom and not as good.

  4. Не думаю что Хэллибак в текущем сезоне будет востребован в дедлайн. Век профессионального спортсмена не так долог, поэтому ближайшие пару сезонов Чевелдейофф будет рассматривать предложения по Бакки.

  5. What matters is Helle chose to stay here because he believes we can win a cup. Let’s bring it home for Helle, boys ✈️ ✈️ ✈️

  6. Connor Hellebuyck is not playing out of his mind. He is playing to the best of his abilities but he is also getting better defensive support which does not hurt. Teams such as New Jersey and Buffalo who could have used his services were unwilling to spend the assets necessary to acquire him and they are screwed because of it. I'm glad he's still a Jet. GO JETS GO.

  7. It is ridiculous because it is ridiculous. That is what luck is sometime it is ridiculous. You get the best winnings out of a slot machine 3 times in a row is it likely no? But it happens that is exactly how it is for the jets as well. They have won games they should not have but luck is luck and random is random.

  8. Thomas Milic is playing very well down in Norfolk for the admirals. I recently found out his contract for this season pays him only $70,000 and not counted against the cap. It counts against Norfolk, but the Jets pay the salary through the affiliate agreement. He is only 21 so he will have to go aways yet before he is ready for the NHL.

  9. Hellebuycks contract is steep but not terrible, elite goalies can keep up well into their mid to late 30s. Schiefs contract though, yeah I still say it's a bad signing for a centre at 30 years old.

  10. Demko in Vancouver has been the other consideration. I don't watch the Canucks so I can't compare them. The other goalie playing lights out is Brossoit. I don't feel like there's any fall off when he's in net – and his numbers line up with 2.18 GAA, and .923 SV%. Helle is extremely positionally sound, whereas Brossoit is extremely athletic. With Helle being probably the best positionally sound goalie in the league it makes sense for him to be the starter, but it's nice having LB in reserve and he deserves a shutout one of these games lol.

  11. I have always said if hellebuyck had a great defense his number would be the best. The jets are playing full 60 min games and you can really see it this year

  12. I would've been fine if we got Mackenize Blackwood or Ukko Pekka Lukkonen if we traded Helle, but glad he decided to stay.

  13. As a Devils fan, as great as it'd be to see Hellebuyck in the red and black, I don't believe acquiring him was any real sort of possibility, despite our GM's concerted efforts.

While the Jets were only too happy to rid themselves of Wheeler and PLD, they had no real interest in trading away the best goalie and arguably best player, period, in franchise history, especially with attendance issues recently coming to the forefront.

Not to mention that contract, in terms of both years and money, makes the most sense to the team that drafted and developed him and where he'll continue making his hockey home for the entirety of his career.
