Wonder what happened with this team that they finally decided to play a more structured defensive game.
Blows my mind how the NHL makes it so hard for its fans to watch games. Blackouts, requiring cable subscriptions, multiple service providers, etc.
They wonder why so many fans just use illegal streams online. It’s more convenient. I wouldn’t mind just paying a certain amount each time to watch a game. Make it like buying a movie online. Do it through YouTube?
Eventually all sports will require you to spend more money to watch them. These leagues are more interested in making money then they are about giving the consumer a better product. Viewership will ultimately go down. Look how pissed fans were when the NFL made 1 game only available on Peacock.

I live in Toledo Ohio and I cannot get Bally's sports on cable but yet I fall into the blackout zone when it comes to things like ESPN Plus. What I want to know is am I going to be in the exact same situation when it comes to Amazon video? Or is this going to be a true streaming service where anybody with the subscription can watch it?
I will never subscribe to Amazon to watch sports. Because I live in New Jersey, I do not get to see many Wings' games unless they are playing the Rangers (who I hate), Devils & Islanders or are on one of the national networks.I can accept that as it is the price I pay for being a Wings fan. But I don't care because the Wings are my favorite team in all sports. I also am a fan of the Tigers, Pistons & Lions. I am old enough to remember watching Gordie Howe, Alex Delvechio , Ulman & others on TV when they were one of the original six.
1. I feel like, regarding Amazon and Bally, that this is only delaying the inevitable. RSNs aren't anywhere near profitable, which is why Fox got out of it to begin with. It's also why the league is trying to prop them up by allowing superimposed ads on the boards, glass, and ice on telecasts. In this arrangement though, Amazon gets two things. First, a tax write-off. Simple as that. They know this is a losing venture in the short term, but that leads into the second… and that is, a way in. If this helps them establish a business relationship with the NHL, they might be taken seriously when streaming rights is up for grabs. After that, who knows? In ten years, we might be watching all our sports on Amazon Prime (for an additional fee, of course — you know this isn't gonna be "free for prime members", right?)
2. Canes and Bolts games will be a battle, but it should be fun overall. More importantly, they're winnable. Sunday should be real fun, with nearly an entire afternoon of sports, I hope to end that day high off of two big wins, not just one. Let's go Wings!
