I’m enjoying the ride. The bottom two are a bit concerning but it’s difficult to complain when they’re so good in transition.

Relying on rush chances is a bit worrying for the playoffs. But even having to worry about sustained playoff success this year is pretty amazing

If this is what year 1 of a rebuild looks like… oh man.

Torts is my favorite coach I’ve ever watched.. fan since 92

Man how long has it been since we’ve been a top ranked team based on rushes and playing fast? I only dreamt I’d see a day where I enjoy watching the flyers again. This is such an ahead of perceived schedule treat.

This is an unexpected good start. I just hope we do not slip into the « overvalue everybody and repeat the mistake of stretching for viability » again.

This is an organic rebuild. It will take years. We are not some mystical team picked by the very universe for greatness just because it is us. There are still assets on this team that are performing at a long-time high with respect to value that if can move them we should.

Keep shedding skin. Keep growing for the future.

Why not rush when you’ve got ginger usain bolt on ice?

Also having basically warped through time two years, seeing how good we are moving through the neutral zone has been such a pleasure. It felt like we really struggled with that at times over the last…decade

i think torts and his coaching staff have done a really good job recognizing where this team’s strengths are, its a lot of fuckin skating but you see the results every game how we force possession changes by just skating through guys, get block or the tip and catch them flat footed. i havent looked at turnover numbers or takeaways but that seems like its been the biggest driver, defensively we’re breaking up and jamming plays before teams can really get established in our zone, TKs anticipation for when to blast the zone is rubbing off on everyone, and the D know to look for that guy every time. If we can ever figure out how to slow things down and cycle the puck properly on the powerplay we can get those last numbers up a bit, its the only thing thats in our way right now.
