I don’t think I ever expected Roy and Lou teaming up. Seems like a clash of styles, but maybe they make it work. The Isles definitely need some sort of jolt.

I don’t like the way this makes me feel

  3. Kitchen-Ad-5571

wonder how valamov feels having him back?

  4. This is the most chaotic thing imaginable and I’m all about it. Roy and Torts in the same division will be fun.

Looks like we have a new second favorite team.

  6. Chico-or-Aristotle

😂😂 Roy with Lamoriello? What a disaster

  7. fleshwound_NPG

lou lamoriello has been a boring motherfucker for 81 years of his 81 years of his existence and decided NOW was the time to yank his little lou out in public and go full insane

damn shame avs already got their two games with the isles

  8. goavsgo1988

I love Patrick Roy; the league is more fun with him in it. I wish it could have worked out with him here

  9. Sportfreunde

Don’t think people remember how bad he was here. Rode our luck one year with Varly and stacked C’s but still got outplayed every night and then it got bad after the one good seasono.

  10. COLORADO_RADALANCHE

I do not think this will work for them but I look forward to seeing how it plays out.

  11. hockeyandhalloween

I expected him to be named as the Habs coach. This is just weird

I remember watching the Avs lose 7-0 to the isles on Long Island while he was head coach. There was a morbidly obese loudmouth screaming “SEVEN, YOU GAVE UP SEVEN” for 10 minutes straight.

I hope that loudmouth remembers lol

    Straight out of Left Field

Told this story before, and it’s been 10 years, but Roy came in to B&N where I worked and bought EVERY leadership and coaching book we had when he was really struggling toward the end of his time here. It was clear he had no idea what he was doing and wanted any available answer but, as evidenced by his departure, he did not find it. He’s done well since so maybe he figured it out but on first blush this is an odd move. I guess we’ll see.

  15. chawkey4

I’m ready for this. Not a fucking clue how this will go but I’m ready

  16. milehighrukus

    Good for him!

Didn’t work out here but I wish him well.

  17. EnnuiBlackbelt

Good for him. I hope he is successful.

  18. endless_8888

Fucking WHAT? Back in the hot tub boys we are in the wrong timeline.

  19. endless_8888

I was expecting him to come in as our backup. This is absurd.

  20. calvyyyn

It’s a shame we don’t play the Islanders again this season

    Unless….

  21. BooksCatsLife

His time with the Avs was before my time as a hockey fan, what happened with that?

  22. C-3POisanasshole

I think this is awesome. It’s too bad we’ve already played them this year.

  23. Madi3400

So for those of you who don’t know- Chris Drury is the (I think) GM of the Islanders so there actually is some connection between Roy and the isles. Drury might be president of hockey ops but I think he’s GM. So this wasn’t as big of a surprise to me and my dad but it is pretty cool

  24. archertom89

I know he kinda left on vad terms, but I still love Roy, and the league is more entertaining with him in it.

  25. Level_Watercress1153

I’m curious to see how this works out. I bet Roy has learned a lot from his stint here, and what he’s done since. I’m actually rooting for the Isles now.

I firmly believe Roy helped institute the “We don’t accept failure” culture that is currently here.

  26. StegroD_Whatchusay

Who’s an Islander we could get in a trade now that Roy is a double agent haha?
