Between him and Klingberg I’m actually convinced that Brad doesn’t believe in physical examinations

  2. I don’t think he was paid for his knees…

  3. burningxmaslogs

Jesus fuck.. what sort of gm signs a dead horse? and why is Reaves still playing with knees like that? This is a horrible look for BT and Shanahan. MLSE’s new President needs to fire both of them for that signing, that’s an incompetent management of assets.

  4. Blinkwave182

Hopefully that contract is insured.. he doesn’t have the skill or health to be a regular in the nhl anymore. Father time more than anything

Doctor: “yeah his knees are shot but he can technically still play…probably best to find someone else”

Leafs: “we’ve got the best medical staff and will heal them back to prime playing condition!”

    Leafs medical team: “uhhhh…”

Take a giant step back. Take a deep breath. Fuck off. 31 teams don’t win every year.

  7. How tf did this get 3 years?! That should be an automatic fire

  8. Big_Albatross_3050

God please let Shanahan get canned before we end up with JFJ 2.0

  9. biggiexo

Guy just bought himself a one way ticket to robidas island to finish his career

They, Shanahan, hired a GM who achieved nothing of note, in Calgary. It’s time we start questioning his decisions, as well.

  11. PersimmonMindless

Yeah, Brad has been pretty terrible. Is it possible to fire a GM after only six months on the job?

  12. Y’all forgetting that this contract can be easily buried? It’s a non issue.

  13. InvictusShmictus

Let it be known that Brad Treliving signed a guy whose knees fall out of their sockets when he gets out of bed in the morning.

  14. publicservantboi

Great, now everyone is going to be aiming for his knees

  15. HostNorth240

The weirdest part about this is I remember when they signed him, Reaves was bragging about how he’s extremely healthy for his age. I’m pretty sure he even talked about how he’s been lucky he hasnt had any serious injuries throughout his career… wtf Reaves ?

  16. Hoardzunit

It’s easy to pile on Brad but outside of the Huberdeau contract he did build a pretty solid Flames team at the end. So I’m willing to give him a bit of a break on some decisions.

  17. Signing reeves and then having to trade lafferty for a 5th will forever be inexcusable for me.

  18. Blue_KikiT92

And yet he’s ready to play and has been so for a couple of weeks now? (Allegedly, according to him)
    Which one is the truth?

    Reeves confuses me.

  19. DJJazzay

I’d understand a signing like this from Treliving’s POV if you were running out of time, all your other FA targets had fallen apart, and you needed to have something to show for the offseason.

But like, that’s clearly not what happened. He signed Bertuzzi and Domi to much friendlier one-year contracts just a few days later. There was plenty of offseason left.

So this isn’t some eleventh hour desperation move after he lost every other lead. He just…thought this contract was a good idea.

So he can go on LTIR literally whenever we want? Sounds kind of handy.

  21. alainalain4911

Don’t worry, if it was really a bad signing Shanahan would have vetoed it.

  22. DiscoLew

You know…. If his knees are bad enough and he goes on LTIR, he gets his full contract value …. Better for him than a buyout…..

  23. cant wait for him to get burried to a dead cap space team at the deadline .. enjoy Chicago, Columbus or Arizona Reavo!

  24. MisterBeebo

It’s the snot between the ligaments that keeps his knees inside his legs. So this is what Brad meant.

  25. Kronzor_

Sounds like the playbook for setting up LTIR

  26. alexsharke

Tre is gonna raw dog this team back to the 07 era.

  27. D_Jayestar

Robidas island … when it’s time, he will be gone. The money means nothing to Toronto

  28. Puzzleheaded77769

Lucky he doesnt pumch woth his knees.

But fuck what a stupid signing.
