They signed Keefe to a 3 yr deal with total stamp of approval from Treliving. I cannot see them firing Keefe this year. Maybe mid next year if the Leafs are still just treading water.

Basically, he come out wearing Matthews #34 Jersey with the C, and perhaps maybe nobody would notice that Matty was wearing #91 with the A to start… and they traded jerseys… C for A? It would make him like the best team guy ever… instead of shamefully losing it because AM34 is the true captain now (passed the torch in Calgary to me), and it'll be stripped from him in the offseason (more than likely) its a risk, because if he wants to raise the cup as the C (he's being selfish, and he's got a better than 3% chance at it… so we'll see) Tavares would get a fuckin' standing-O from the hometown fans for this gesture! It would blow people's minds… and it would be allowed even tho he's not invited to the NHL all-star game, because Tavares is on the home town team!
