Everyone saying its a w trade, my question is who's leaving? I csnt think of a 3-4m oiler player that id want to lose for this trade
A good cheap contract that adds depth. If they bang off a top 6 forward at the deadline things could get crazy
Basically any problem player who has issues, and gets kicked off their team I suspect the oilers to try and add ASAP at this point now… Trying to scoop up skilled guys with issues cheaply to counter the fact they have noooo cap left… And hoping the issues that bit other teams in the ass wont bite them… They'll be the GF that a serial problem player like Kane wont abuse or cheat on… They'll be the GF who's special enough to help Perry stay sober… Etc etc etc.
Imagine the moral outrage and pearl clutching if he had been tossed by some other team and then signed by the Hawks.

If he doesn't pan out, what are the options in respect to the cap hit, do they save $ if they waive him and he ends up in the minors, any other options before the deadline??? I'm asking, I don't know! I think it was smart to get him now see what happens ,still got a lot of time until the trade deadline, also 0$ cap space now ,correct?? That'd mean no more significant moves I'm assuming?? I really don't like perry, it's residue from years past no doubt, but he does slot in to a 2nd/3rd right wing spot, foegle is playing his absolute best hockey lately, scoring way more consistently ,hopefully perry doesn't screw up the mojo

At what point do the fans finally give proper credit to Ken Holland? His job was to build a contender. He's done that very well I'd say. "I consider Holland the best Oiler Management hire since John Muckler in 1982". Ace96 2021.

I absolutely love this‼️ I was wanting this as soon as I heard he was free to sign with other teams. This is going to be a huge addition to the lineup. You know he’s coming in very thankful for another chance and with a contending team. Not to mention he’s going to drive other teams nuts and the Oilers need that. Esa Tikkanen 2024.

Way to go holland! brings in depth, experience and grit in one player. solid signing. perry can play in lots of positions 3rd or 4th line, pp 2 or maybe a few tries on line 2. Glad he decided to come to Edmonton. He's a super competetive guy and Gives our coach some more options. might take him a couple games to get back up to speed hopefully not.
