Part of the issue with the canes is that you can’t just shoot 25-40 shots a game and only get 2 goals from it. Some of the shots they’re getting are lower quality so the stats look nice but in reality they’re not usually that high percentage. So part of the issue is that in the games they don’t win you generally find them scoring 2 goals or less. But the goaltending is an issue. Raanta was decent last night but in general there’s inconsistency with him and Kooch. And even being decent he still let one squib through behind him for the Wild to tap in. Truly a combination of both of those things as well as the occasional defensive lapse (I.e. Slavin allowing the Wild net front presence on one of the goals without much of an effort to move his man out of the front of goal).
