  1. Pulock is looking great now, after finishing this bridge contract, 2 years @ $2million a season. As you said he will be receiving a healthy raise as well as term on his next contract.
Devon Toews should be compensated as well although I imagine his will be less valuable. Probably a bridge contract for him, 1 or 2 years long.
The both of them are entering their "prime" years too, I can see GMLL signing these 2 up for the long term potentially.

  2. Ladd is not an NHLer anymore, Is Johnny Boychuks contract bad considering his decreasing ice time and production? He is a big shot blocker and throws a lot of good hits, but he is 36.
Maybe the Islanders can fling Ho-Sang to Detroit as a reclamation project. Could he be another Fabbri/Leivo/Ryan Strome type story?

  3. It's scary to think that in the Metro the Devils are currently the only team not stacked in it and if they sort themselves out the Metro is going be insane with all teams popping.

  4. Hard to watch this team in the back-half of the season, they looked totally out to lunch. That being said, I think they have a decent roster if they can find one good offensive piece to play with Barzal and take some pressure off a guy like Lee. If Sorokin is as advertised and they get that offensive piece, I think they are within spitting distance of being a contender. I'm not sure this roster will ever be a perennial favorite to win, but they could definitely have a couple decent runs at it.

  6. Trade idea:
Isles: get Ladds contract 100% taken by Ottawa
Sens: in return they get a top notch prospect, next years 1 rounder and Andy greene(due to the fact he looks like a rental and they won’t have enough cap to keep him no matter what). That’s my opinion. I think it is a good trade because it would allow isles to keep most of the group together. Thoughts?

Also the isles could maybe give Greiss to the sens if soroken is ready

  7. 2:12 Adam Pelech and Ryan Pulock are both the Isles' best defensemen, along with Nick Leddy, Johnny Boychuk, and Scott Mayfield. But losing Pelech had a big impact on the Islanders. Also, they almost lost Boychuk because of that scary injury he had against the Canadiens.

  8. Pelech and Pulock must be keepers. And frankly, so is Martin. I firmly believe that he, Clutterbuck, and Cizikas is THE best 4th line in the game, and I was ecstatic when he came back from Toronto. I'd like Greiss to stay too, but frankly, while I don't want to see anyone else on that list go, I wouldn't be broken over it either.

Frankly, I was a huge fan of Josh Ho-Sang until his little hissy fit. I get where he's coming from, I really do, and I liked what I saw last year when he came up, but you just can't be a baby like that and just not show up to camp. Come on, man.

  9. I agree they need to open cap space. They have too many defensemen on the books now. I like Boychuk a lot, but I think he needs to go. Ladd….it could have been good, but it wasn’t. I’d prefer they keep Greiss but seems unlikely since Varly has that 5 year deal….and Sorokin is a no brainer. They NEED to figure out how to score more. They don’t need a Mike Bossy, but just like Tavares couldn’t carry the team alone Barzal can’t either. They need a 30 goal scorer. Maybe Pageau is the answer??

  10. It doesn't sound like the league wants to go the CBO route (although the union doesn't necessarily hate it because guys can sign new deals)

That cap space is awfully tight. Barzal will surely want 9+ for term and 8+ on a bridge (and there's the Montreal offer sheet possibility, be wary of that). Pulock should get 5-5.5 no prob, he's a top pair guy. Toews should get 3-ish. While the Isles have some options to clear space (I think Leddy and Boychuk are neutral-ish assets for the right team), I think that their RFAs vs cap space is being overlooked a bit.

  11. Even if Greiss was willing to take less money we wouldn’t keep him, Sorokin is almost certainly coming over

  12. Sorokin is now probably coming over to the Islanders so he is definetly gonna get the defense back to 2018-19 form again so Sorokin + Pelech and Pulock as Defensemen + Barzal-Pageau-Eberle/Nelson = 🥶🥵💯

  13. After adding Pageau, the Isles have set their roster for 20'/21'. Greene gets resigned, Leddy gets traded and Sorokin shows great stuff backing up Varlamov. This team should score +- 230 goals next season and allow +- 207. They earn 100 points which gets them 3rd in Metro. With their playoff suited style, they win the first round matchup, but dont have the talent to run deep.
Sorokin will eventually be a game stealer and push them to the later rounds, but he'll likely need a few thousand minutes played to adjust to the NHL.
