Any adult that doesn’t like these types of things and the all star game need to realize, that it isn’t for them, it is for the most important audience of the nhl… the youth. If kids do not fall in love with the game, then the game loses out on future talent that will drive the league forward. Hockey has always lagged behind the major sports so anything for the kids is a good thing in the long run. Still the worst ran league that could be doing so much more to improve the league but that costs money aka profit.

I wonder if much of the continued hate is just from people forming an opinion from the teaser (and from how bad the Vegas and LA ones are), and not being able to let that go 2 months later. I can also understand some folks wouldn’t have liked it no matter how they announced it.

Depends on what they look like in a game. The colour is nice, but I hope they aren’t as much of an eye sore as the Vegas and LA helmets.

They look better with the white jerseys. On the homes the chrome blue looks mismatched with the jersey blue.
Strictly from a scientific pov… I propose a hypothesis that studies how a chrome sheen may further help opponents, under duress situations, identify light refractions from Canucks players’ helmets caught by peripheral vision. Thereby, increasing the success, or detriment (to the Canucks team), of split second decisions.

These are the best shiny ones in the league. Hit the exact colour that was needed to make them look really good. Way better than LA’s chrome-domes
