To be fair Barzal was leading the team in points when the ASG voting completed. The fans are too blame for Dobson not being there as well. Fans chose Reilly from the Leafs instead.

ASG is such a bore! It’s to the point where the majority of players dont want to go. And the ones now going have been so many times there is very little efforts or they make it all about their friends and family and completely forget about the fans. Check how full the bench is with kids and moms. Like seriously 90% of fans dont want to see Ovi’s kid taking a breakaway instead of Ovi!? Great for the kid and Ovi but as a fan who fucken cares. The whole format needs revamping and every 4-5 or so years would be better!

Unless Dobson has some bonus tied to an allstar appearance, I doubt he’s angry about it. The legitimacy of the NHL allstar game has long disappeared. If I’m Dobson, I’m heading to the Caribbean for a few days.
It’s not the all star game anymore. It’s the representation game for whoever wants to go.
