Refs are terrible this year. At least they’re bad for everyone? But yeah. Don’t know how they missed those, pretty blatantly obvious.
It happens. Novak got hauled down earlier too. Refs are bad.

He is so good that they literally can’t call all the infractions against him or the other team would be short handed half the game 😄 at least that’s what I’ve always thought. Def not fair but probably their reasoning

I stopped trying to figure out NHL refs a long time ago. They’re all black-out drunk and they drink at the same bar as MLB umpires.

Puck was fairly close at the point of contact, could be argued they both made a play for the puck, one guy bigger than the other, possession unclear, keep it moving.
Refs also let McDavid get away with quite a bit. Saw him in a recent game grab 2 players’ sticks and ref was close by watching the play. They give him some slack I feel.

The NHL refs, I get its very hard. But aren’t very good at all. This is par for the course.

It happens to him every game. That’s what makes what he does so impressive. He regularly wins the scoring race while being attacked like this night in and night out. He’d have 150 points every year if the refs didn’t let these things go

I don’t even think it’s a bad call. He had the puck, so he can get hit. Play the player not the puck is sometimes the way to go. Especially when the guy can out maneuver you 10 times over
