Fuck.
Chytil’s health is absolutely #1 priority. Even if he never plays another game, I hope the rest of his life is well-lived.
That being said, if he’s on LTIR, what do the Rangers do from here?
Not even hockey related feel horrible with the news no one so young should have this many concussion issues
Feel for the guy. Loved watching him last year.
Wishing him a nice recovery
Get better soon Fil! Hope he’s good for next season but his life quality is too priority.
Poor Fil 🙁
Wishing him the best in recovery
Felt like the obvious next step. Kid’s health should take precedence.
Get well, Fil, and hope to see you lace them up next season.
This is the correct choice for Chytil. This way he can start fresh in September.
So upsetting but also fully expected after the other days setback. Can’t put your life on the line for hockey, his health is top priority. Hoping for a full recovery and a long healthy career.
🙏 🙏 🙏
this really hurts the chances of Chytilmania this year 🙁
Sucks but it’s the right decision. Health comes first and this is a life issue at this point.
From a Rangers’ perspective, Drury now has $4.2 million to work with at the deadline. I’m excited to see what he does. He needs to add a 3C and RW1 for sure, and maybe more
Still so curious what happened at that practice. Did he literally just get dizzy and fall on the ice and couldn’t get up? Seems crazy to happen if he was lifting and skating in Czechia for weeks without issue. Did someone run into him?
Not unexpected since the terrible news the other day. Hope he can recover.
It’s a good thing he signed that contract when he did. Even if he never plays another game, he’s set up for the next chapter in his life.
That being said, I can see the real rest and time off doing him a lot of good. It wouldn’t be the first time a player got shut down for an extended period of time and came back from concussions. I wish him nothing but the best.
I can’t even imagine breaking your ass to the level you can play in the NHL and then having to no make a decision like this. Truly hope he gets some rest and slowly can move towards playing again, and if it’s too much, has the brains to hang up the skates and enjoy life
Crosby took about a year off due to concussion issues and was eventually able to return. Hopefully Fil can heal and return to the game he loves. But in the end we all just want him to be happy and healthy and not deal with horrible effects for the rest of his life.
This sucks ass.
Choosing to be hopeful and pray that he comes back next year stronger than ever. Health absolutely comes first but we don’t need to be pessimistic and say his career is over. Crosby missed a ton of time when he was younger due to concussions — that turned out alright
Feel better Filip
😢 This is of course the right decision but I feel for the guy and if it’s possible for him to play again and remain healthy I hope he does because he’s incredible to watch and has so much potential
we’ve seen people come back from situations like this, so not all hope is lost.
crosby had a bunch of concussions, and he is still going strong in his late 30’s.
Okposo looked to not only have his career be done, but there were serious health concerns with him. but he too was able to return full-time without any more issues.
hope and pray for the best for the kid. he deserves it.
Heartbreaking – I only wish he can recover from this.
Man this sucks so much
Ugh, hate this. Feel so bad for the guy
Does anyone have a timeline of Chytil’s concussions? How many has he had, and when did he get them?
This is so sad
Is there any neck stabilization exercises that can help fil, similar to what boxers do with the weights on their head?
I feel like there has to be a way to stabilize and strengthen the kneck to prevent the whiplash and brain movement
