@Sabres de Buffalo

    I mean which serious franchise doesn’t have the cotton candy machine humming on kids day?

    What’s up SEEL. I sent you a note a few mins ago. For some reason, my comment on your GC thread was removed, so I wanted to give you a heads up

    And Winnipeg and Ottawa both get a bad rap too. I mean, the ‘peg is cold as shit, but good times can be had. Ottawa has a great downtown, very walkable. Amazing in the summer, which is obviously irrelevant for visiting players. But the arena is a million miles away. I’d bitch at the team mgmt for making them stay close to the arena honestly.

    Wait until my home baked cookies and brownies make their way to the visitor locker room

    You arrogant millionaires! How dare you! Clearly you haven’t tried beef-on-weck, sponge candy or Teds. You’d be begging to come to Buffalo.

    None of them will care if the team is winning and they are getting paid. It’s about winning.

    You’re there to play a hockey game. It’s your job. You’re mostly in a town for what 1-2 days at a time? What is it exactly you want from a place you’re visiting? Seems to me that if you have time and mental energy to whine about December gloom in the North you have time to work on your craft. And if that’s where your head is at and not focused on winning then I don’t know to tell you. Find a new job.

    I read the full article, the most popular cities (Vegas, NYR, Montreal) obviously have lots going for them, but one thing the players consistently praised was the arena. This seems like one area where a rich owner could really give us an advantage in attracting free agents, but he’s done nothing.

    I would imagine most cities outside of Boston and NYC in this part of the continent would be less appealing during the winter months.

    No good nudie joints for the fellas ….

    Come to think of it, who wants to open the old Club Marcella into an adult entertainment club. Close to casino, close to Marriott Harbor center for the 10% of NHL’ers who voted poorly.

    Goldmine I say!

    I visited Buffalo for a Canucks game and minus the state of emergency pending for road closures and thinking Walgreens was a grocery store I really enjoyed the city

    The lack of road paint and weird street lights ABOVE the cars was kind of weird but overall I’d want to visit again.

    That being said the arena feels VERY dated compared to other rinks I’ve been to.

    No offense but of course “there is not much to do in Buffalo” when some players are looking for shit they used to do in Canada, queue up Hockey Canada Scandal. There are lots of things to do in Buffalo.
