Other than the ‘checked all the boxes’ Tre talk. I think Conroy killed this trade as opposed to our old Gm who probably would’ve traded our first with Lindy. Future is looking good with Conny at the helm. Has me feeling like we’re gonna get the max available for our ufas.

I really like that he’s clearly trying to fill important gaps in the team’s toolbox. Kuze is a big PP and shootout scorer, and the flames can definitely use that. Also, he’s very good and the tip in or deflection goal, so stick him with hubby and have him be the finisher for that line. I also like that Conroy is taking guys who have high potential but have been shaky and getting them playing solid (sharky cough cough)

Canucks fan here: I think Kuzmenko is a sneaky buy-low addition for a team that can be patient and work with him on his details.
He’s uber talented, but this is now 2 coaches (Boudreau & Tochett) who have made him a healthy scratch because he didn’t have NHL level details.
Things like keeping his shifts short/not getting caught out there.. not trying to deke guys at his own blue line.. better reads/more consistent forechecking.. “game management”.
These were all kind of the things Van was working with him on, and where he needs to level up his game.
