Low risk high reward
Love it.
Now bring up Poulin, too.
Bye bye Jake
This is a Dubas deal if I ever saw one. He’ll leave Pittsburgh with a 3x3M contract elsewhere, book it.
Figured. He and Ludvig were scratched last night, and Ludvig got called up too.
They’ll have to put Smith on LTIR.
Also WBS is up shit’s creek now because I think there’s *ONE* non-veteran defenseman😅
We’re going to the pool party! Hard to not be excited given the initial early thoughts on this guy. But will not be surprised if we’re let down
His JFresh chart really seems to point to a guy who Edmonton drove into the ground the longer he was there. I’m not really sure he’ll ever be at a top 5 pick level, but it’s a good value deal for a guy on a team with almost no young/younger assets.
LGP.
Enjoy poolparty. He never found his game in edmonton, but the fans liked him. Hope he does well for you.
My personal observation, he needs to develop as a third line pest/agitator type player. Once he has his confidence in that role his natural talent will follow and he could be an effective complimentary winger on a skill line
Aside from poolparty, he also had the nickname bison king.
Enjoy, pittsburg
He is listed at 6’4″ 201 pounds, can he stand in front of the net at get pucks shot at him on the powerplay?
Bargain
It’s a pool party on 5th avenue!

Fucking something to get excited about 🥵
It’s sad this is all Dubas has done to help the pens this year
All people ever talk about with him is offense or lack thereof. He gets no credit for stellar defensive play. He’s a 90+ percentile defender. That has carried over into Wilkes, where’s he’s a +8 in 13 games on a team loaded with minuses.
I think it’s likely he sticks around because of this, even if his scoring is dogshit as usual. Sullivan adores these types.
Crazy to think he was fourth overall in the Auston Matthews draft year
Edit to add: here’s some players that were picked after Jesse
Matthew Tkachuk
Clayton Keller
Charlie McAvoy
Tage Thompson
Also, and I’d forgotten this…Alexander Nylander was 8th overall. So pens have the 4th and 8th pick from the 2016 draft
I think in the right environment he’ll thrive. Hopefully Pittsburgh can give it to him
Always felt like he didn’t quite fit into Edmonton and that a combo of injuries and the mental game hampered his play in Carolina. Would like to see the boogie man make a comeback
Let’s Go! Poolparty!!
