This one is for all the 12 year olds/ the fans in this sub that act as such:
1. Fitzy has done a fan effin tastic job at building this team and acquisitioning assets. Do you think he isn’t trying to make moves? Do you think he’s not aware of our goalie situation? No, seriously, what is your thought process here? Are you not aware everyone and their mothers (except boston) is looking for a goalie? Supply and demand folks, fitzy isn’t going to throw our future nor trade everything away for a win now goalie, every one with eyes knows that the devils don’t look like a contender right now. Like shit where is all your trust in the man? Look at where our team is now, be grateful we are even in the conversation ffs
2. You’re not an nhl coach and you don’t know what is going on behind closed doors. Lindy was given an extension for a reason, the dude has been around hockey longer than most of you have been alive. Trust the damn process. As far as Holtzy is concerned, stfu, he’s made so much progress stop your bitchin about his ice time, have our young stars not made a tremendous amount of progress? The devils are playing the long game just relax. Oh yeah and have you not heard any of our players talk about lindy? Have you seen their facial expressions when they do? They like him, he is not the problem.

Was at the game last night, and it was obvious the Devils’ skaters outplayed Calgary.
I guess I’m at the point where if the Devils miss the playoffs this year…so be it. Let Luke and Nemec get more experience at this level, get a decent draft pick and *fight like hell* to get a goalie in the offseason. This team is still built for long-term success, and I wouldn’t put it past them to have a bounce-back season like Vegas last year or the 2011-12 Devils.

Fitz needed to get the goalie in the offseason. Teams are going to want Holtz and 2 firsts right now. I’m not in favor of that as we should keep the picks imo.

We either trade for a goalie now and have a decent shot at playoffs.
Or we burn the season, settle for a trash mid first round pick, and then still trade for a goalie in the summer or overpay one in FA.
All we need to do is hold. If we don’t find success now, we’ll find success later. This team is YOUNG and ELITE – but a serviceable NHL average goalie would definitely help. That being said, I have no interest in overpaying a short term goalie. Our team is built for the long term and we ought to get a goalie that matches our identity. Fans are doomed into the ground right now (not for bad reason) but if we take this as an experience year, and let it light a fire under us for next year, I could imagine a world where I look back on 23-24 season fondly as Luke and Nemo’s rookie year and Bratt’s breakout season.
Also, I wouldn’t shed a tear if Lindy left but it’s not something I would recommend. 1) Lindy hasn’t had the chance to work with a full roster this season. That includes trying to find line chemistry in practices. The Lindy blender gets a little intense sometimes, but the guy is working with a lava-lamp-roster where players are constantly going up and down. 2) please include your replacement suggestions In your fire Lindy posts and explain them. I really don’t think we’re a coaching change away from a playoff spot. In my humble opinion, our goalies have lost us way more games than our coaching has this season.
Our playoff hopes will either stay alive or die depending on the outcome of the Stadium Series game.

The season is cooked. Can’t keep having good efforts sunk by the worst goaltending in the league, but the answer isn’t there. Oh well, should have been a special season and everything went wrong.
Imagine if Markstrom was in net for NJ 😅
it’s time to move on from fitz. Waking up this morning and there is literally NO NEWS about a goalie or a coaching change tells me he’s lost it.
I liked it. It was refreshing to see us make it more challenging for ourselves. Last season was way too easy.
