@Hurricanes de la Caroline

Tell me you didn’t see the « knee on knee » vs Fox without telling me you didn’t see it….

How can we be the dirtiest team and be 26th in the league in hits?

  2. ExtremepcVA

Glad to know it wasn’t just the jerk behind me that is insufferable.

I’m proud of this author. Not everyone is brave enough to share their ignorance with so many people.

Solving Carolina isn’t even hard. Literally beat one of our two extremely inconsistent goalies. Thats it. Devils couldn’t even put one up last night. I thought the offense was supposed to be the one good thing about the devils. Meanwhile calling Sebastian Aho dirty makes this person seem dumber than a door nail and on top of that they’re using a game we played against their hated rival as an example. Talk about grasping at straws.

I haven’t watched NHL much compared to other people in this sub, but I’d consider the Panthers (mainly Tkachuk) to be dirty. I think Carolina plays aggressively in a way that they use the forecheck and are always pressuring the puck, but playing aggressive does not equal dirty.

And winning 3 division titles in a row and currently #2 now seems more like it’s a planned strategy than luck. Deflections and rebounds are part of the game.

Seems like someone who’s just frustrated with an underperforming season and can’t win against us.

There’s some truth to the « fling a lot of pucks towards the net » comment, of course. Lots of shots from the perimeter. It’s a strategy, not just hoping for good luck.

The rest? Whining. True, the Canes can be more physical than they have been in years past. A response, I guess, to being beat up by the Panthers last year. But « dirty »? Nah. And what’s a « borderline dirty play »? Not dirty.

1st of all Aho does not have a reputation as a dirty player. Secondly are we are physical team? It is delusional to me that anyone thinks the Canes are dirty. KK and Svech can lay the hammer, and we forecheck a lot (when we’re playing our game) but I honestly don’t view Carolina as physical. Anyways tell me you don’t watch Carolina games without telling me you don’t watch.
I’ll give him points for the 1st paragraph tho, that may or may not be true 😂

    > « Quite frankly, Carolina as a team relies on luck to generate offense more than just about any team in the league. Their offensive “system” involves having their defensemen fling pucks in the general direction of the net in the hopes of getting deflections, rebounds, and lucky bounces. »

Interestingly, I think that has somewhat changed for [this season](https://hockeyviz.com/team/CAR/2324) compared to [seasons past](https://hockeyviz.com/team/CAR/2223). It looks like we’re using only one defenseman to fling pucks at the net, and then a forward on the other side to fling pucks at the net. Or, it could be a defenseman playing lower. But seriously, it’s noticeable that we have changed the way we play offense this year. A lot more shots from the circle instead of up high, and a lot more working that triangle with the slot, especially on the power play. I do wonder if the reputation for getting the puck back out to the blue line all the time isn’t helping us free up space in the middle more often as defenders over-commit to our D men.

The Aho Fox dialogue is such a microcosm of the big city bias. Fox, quite blatantly, is the one that extended his leg in an effort to trip Aho. Anyone with eyes can see that, it’s not debatable. Just because Fox got hurt, it’s somehow Aho’s fault because the big market team got their feelings hurt.

Just insane. Also the Devils can suck eggs.

First part is somewhat true but damn the rest is so funny. Pure salt in that writing

  11. Hot-Conclusion-6617

They’re just sore about losing in overtime.

  12. Clark828

People are still fucking talking about the knee on knee? One of the clearest accidental knee on knees I’ve ever seen.

  13. One unlucky bounce in the Hurricanes favor he says.

  14. « They know how to position themselves to generate as many of these chances as possible, so credit to them for figuring out a way to create as much good luck as possible. ». This actually comes to me as a compliment. Luck favors the bold after all.

  15. Thecowboywilson1994

I’m usually not the guy saying something like this, as I find it to be an unintelligent and witless response, but this fellow can cry about it.

  16. BillMilton26

The devils commentators are the most one sided my team deserves to win commentators I’ve ever heard

  17. framingXjake

Lol now I dislike the Devils even more

The first paragraph wasn’t wrong, but everything after that lol
