That game made me wanna run out into the snow, what a freaking effort, this is exactly how we need to play for the rest of the season

Edit: Jack & Nico playing not only makes us play better, it specifically makes Mercer play better, which makes three lines playing well at once

  2. mustachiolong

Every selling team with an average goalie that was hoping for a first is now realizing they fucked up and will now get nothing.

  3. SuperCorgi1

god damn I loved our top 3 lines today. All of them brought something different to the table but dominated!

  4. gandaalf

That win cannot be understated given the circumstances right now. In my top 3 favorite wins this year.

  5. nsfwITGUY19

Let’s fucking go devils! Timo time! Nico playing amazing. Lazar saving the game with his defense. What a win!

  6. atoms12123

Just want to say I love Curtis Lazar. What an underrated pickup.

  7. standardbluejay

First time all year it’s felt like last year. Build on this. Beat LA and then smash Philly at Metlife and prove we are a threat come April. LFGD

I’m gonna put my tinfoil hat on for a sec and wonder how much input Ruff has on this new system. I mean, look at his body of work with us. He rolled out the same system every year, more or less, regardless of who was on the team. It took more than halfway through a season of nothing but struggles to to make this change. It just doesn’t feel like something Lindy would willingly do because, if he would, then what’s the justification for not doing it until now? Feels like there’s a chance he might be a lame duck and we’re seeing someone else’s work

  9. mikebe1

I feel like every time I shit talk Timo he scores a goal. I’ve learned my lesson, gotta start shit talking him before EVERY game now.

  10. john_browns_beard

Not only did they win both games of a back to back, they beat Nashville for the first time in 9 games. Really hope they can build on this, very solid performance yesterday and tonight.

  11. Would be pretty sweet if Edmonton can get the win against Detroit. Would move us to only 2 points out

  12. nsfwITGUY19

Let’s all give it up for Curtis Fucking Lazar. That man saved a goal. He puts his body in harms way night after night. Never gives up. He’s a rock solid 2 way player and he deserves a lot of love tonight!

  13. SergeantTushFinger

Let’s just keep winning it’s more fun this way 🙂

  14. stacez15

I don’t know what kind of gato Kevin Bahl switched to, but the man looks like a completely different player

  15. xxfatpigxx

What like 5 years since I last saw a Devils W in Nashville? MY FAITH HAS BEEN REWARDED.

What a fun game and great turnout by Devils fans down here for the game.

  16. If we manage to beat the kings and the flyers I think we win the eastern conference tbh

  17. multiplemiggs1

I think Jack spiked Vanecek’s hibachi with something to make him sick. Hopefully it lasts. I know Lindy is dying to get him back in there.

  18. imthelasttimelord

Wings are down 2 in the third!

  19. The team just took 5/6 points in our last three games fighting for a playoff spot and I’m still seeing complaints about Holtz on the 4th line. How many Holtz family members are on this sub?

  20. Toasttoasttoast1

Wait, so we could win the 2nd game of a back to back this whole time???

  21. We beat the Preds, in their house, on a back to back, WITH TRAVEL.

    Daws played well.

    Our defense looked really good.

Timo fought thru two defenders to slam home a rebound and score the game winning game.

Lazar was influential almost every time he was on the ice.

The whole team was buzzing and I’m here for it. Carry this energy, AND LFGNJD

  22. Lazar’s blocked shot with like a minute left and Bratt’s block on Glass with 1:45 left were so huge. It’s great to see these clutch defensive plays.

  23. Cromiee

Is this…what it feels like to win the 2nd half of a back to back?

Jokes aside, that was an ideal set of back to back games. Get a comfortable lead early, and hold it the rest of the way to conserve energy for the next game. Saros was feeling it this game, so it took every bit of energy to grind out the comeback W (almost putting up 50 shots is pretty crazy given the circumstances lol).

Hopefully they can build off this and do some damage down the stretch!

  24. NJDevs30

We were playing like Detroit is rn not that long ago. Hope whatever they changed during the break sticks for us

  25. Jballzs13

Detroit is gonna lose folks. We’re here

  26. Old_Artist3624

Daws has been looking pretty solid the past few games out. Maybe having v v out will get him some rest and fix what’s going on in his game.

  27. TediousSpark

Tell you what, I don’t know what ANY defense could do against some of McDavid’s moves tonight, good lord

  28. nsfwITGUY19

I know it’s stupid but tonight felt like a playoff game to me. And I know Nashville isn’t on top of the league or anything, but man we played really well tonight. We’re only 2 points out of wild card now with Detroit losing. A nice strong finish to the year and we got a post season berth! I can feel it

  29. SoupySails37

I think I need to go to the emergency room. My hard on still hasn’t gone away since that Hughes goal. What an absolute beauty.

  30. cody-has93

Anyone else like the idea of Brendan Smith being a 4th line winger rotation with Bastian and Hatakka coming back?

    Did everyone like Hatakka’s game?

  31. tECHOknology

So glad that review in the pads near the line wasn’t a goal, looked close, could’ve been a real downer.

  32. Rise3711

Look at us realizing how to play defense the past few games, encouraging stretch

  33. ryanwest19

A 4 point swing in 24 hours is absolutely massive. And guess who took charge? Your 8.8M guy scores the game winner, your 8M franchise center scores, and your 7.5M captain scores twice. That’s how this team wins games. You need your best players to be the best down the stretch

  34. InstructionNo3616

Holtz is such a non factor… team needs to trade him while they can.

  35. sanbaba

So stoked about that win. Everything from starting Daws, to Meier’s first goal since returning, wonderful stuff. The offensive pressure was really helpful even when we couldn’t buy a great shot, and garbage saved us in the end. Wasn’t anywhere near as neat a defense as the last two games – regardless of the score – but on a back to back vs a physical team that usually has its way with us, I’ll fucking take it!!
