Split the belt in half and give it to Sammy and Matthews.

Also, maybe try matching the intensity of the team you’re playing? Jeez…

  2. ProfessorBeast55

Give ME the belt! I deserve it for the braindead Auston comment 😅🤦‍♂️

  3. Baron_of_Foss

Nylander just saved Tyler Bertuzzi’s life

  4. WintersbaneGDX

Does anyone know if this PWHL game at Scotiabank tomorrow is being televised?

  5. Showtime98

2 wins without Mo let’s keep rolling 🔥

  6. Camarama421

If we’re holding players accountable, Bertuzzi should be scratched on Saturday. Good lord he’s been such a net negative. Thank god we didn’t spoil another Matty Hatty

  7. theguyishere16

Thought Liljegren had a strong game. The way he lured 2 Flyers to him on the OT goal before sliding it to Willy was great.

  8. hymensmasher99

    AUSTON MATTHEWS!

Gregor and Bert owe Nylander a steak dinner. What a couple of terrible penalties that almost cost us this W

  9. Movieandtvfan

Bertuzzi at 5.5 million is daylight fucking robbery.

  10. Fulller

Shouldn’t have given up that point but I guess at least they walked away with the 2 points.

  11. Counterkiller29

    Matthews is a god.

    Nylander is my hero.

Bertuzzi should have kept his hair, made a wig, and gave it to Rielly.

  12. GiveMeAdviceClowns

How insane is it that Matthews got a natural hatty in just 7:40 minutes? He’s on pace for 8 hatties, and the record is 10 by Gretzky in a totally different era. Insane.

  13. SyphiliticPlatypus

Fugly win, and one that I will take all day.

Love that as bad as we looked in many spots, we controlled OT from the puck drop to cement the dub.

  14. LawrenceMoten21

Don’t want to see Bertuzzi in the lineup for a while.

  15. mikeydavison

I know it’s redundant but FFS fire Bertuzzi into the sun. He’s useless.

  16. buktee123

Lost in all this is how awesome it is to have Sammy back and serviceable

  17. Spider-Fan77

Bertuzzi is so fucking useless. The guy’s done absolutely nothing this whole season.

But anyway who cares AUSTON MATTHEWS IS A LEAF!!!

  18. TheUpwardSpiralDown

Bert needs to sit one out and get his head together

  19. boyBookchin

Happy as heck for the wins but the turnovers and sloppy plays trying to breakout are getting to be a real problem. Seems like something that should be fixable?

  20. RootTips

As middling as this season has been it kind of does feel different. They don’t seem to give up as easily.

  21. toedragrelease

Is Bert really that unlucky that he can’t score? He’s had a million chances. Is his shot weak? Not great at picking holes? Does he need tape on his stick? Something’s gotta give.

  22. Willy_freakin_styles

4 points in the last two games without Mo, with the boys battling the flu. good shit

  23. polerize

A fully armed and operational #34 is a beautiful thing for Toronto. And a terrible sight for every other team.

  24. Camarama421

Also shoutout to McCabe in overtime. He blew it a while back against the Islanders, but he gets the starting shift here with Mo out, and was very patient and made good choices with moving the puck

  25. Steppyjim

Good game leafs. I was happy to see the flyers pull back in but Matthew’s is just ridiculous. Absolutely burned on the bad change in OT. Was happy with my boys showing. With any luck we’ll be talking playoffs in April.

  26. irkybirky

Bert be lucky to get anything over 2.5 next season. Leafs got lucky Philly brought a physical game.

  27. CMDRShepardN7

The cameras have a need for shirtless Willy.

  28. newt_37

Flyers fan here in peace. Just wanted to say gg, hope to see you in the playoffs, and I can’t wait to get a guy at the same level as your young studs.

  29. Bertuzzi can fuck off. He’s so useless this year- mcmann has one less goal than him this year

  30. shikotee

If this were an away game, I’d expect the entire team to sneak into Bertuzzi’s room at night with socks and soap bars.

  31. Sh0_dan

Hate that it got to OT but will not complain about 2 pts in the standings

  32. Anonymous_HC

Wasn’t that surprised it ended up going to OT, I had a feeling it will come to that after Bertuzzu took that penalty. They need to close games out in the last 5 minutes of the 3rd more often.

  33. twizzyflyguy

Tampa just has to win don’t they, also weird seeing Florida with the top spot after Boston being A1 after the whole season, even if we push Tampa out of A3 it’s Boston round one which makes me feel a little iffy

  34. Laughingboy68

They were up 3-1. Have they not had enough teams come back on them? They played the game at 3-1 like it was a friendly game of shinny – and wouldn’t it be fun to get Matty his fourth. For fuck sakes the best way to win *and* to get his fourth goal is to play it hard, straight and not so predictably. Mitch and Domi have to at least look like they *might* shoot the puck. I was more frustrated by the waste of good chances because of the « let’s get him four » distraction than the mistakes and the comeback.

This team is immature. Talented as can be. Just not a serious hockey team. They rarely keep their foot on the pedal to make it an easy win.

I’m glad they pulled it out of the fire. However, Sheldon has to be pulling his hair out. They make his life as a coach miserable. The back and forth with Willy on the bench wasn’t a good look.

Given how cohesive they looked against the Blues, I can’t help but think the focus, attitude and professionalism of the three most talented forwards on this team leave something to be desired. They are all such good players. They can do things that others can’t. What they don’t do very often is leave it all on the ice for several games in a row.

  35. wrinkledpenny

I had to miss the third period. Why all the hate on Bert tonight? And three straight penalties in the third against Toronto lol

  36. correct_eye_is

Elephant in the room? This team lives to make things hard for themselves. Can we just hold a 3-1 lead and win like a playoff team would?

For fucks sakes I don’t know how much more of this bullshit I can take. If we end up fighting for a wild card spot do we really have to give a team that might take the spot a free fucking point on us?

Games like these always make me think of the weather rant guy and I substitute what he’s saying about the weather with Leafs stuff. Maybe some haven’t heard of the weather rant guy so I’ll put it up here.

Some background for context. This guy was a regular caller so they didn’t screen him this one day and he snapped on live air. He’s a farmer and the weather really means a lot to him. Now substitute farming and weather for this fucking team.

Knies has generally been a disappointment this season. Hell I trust Robertson out there more than I do him right now, he makes too many mistakes in our zone.
