They need to give Lyon a break. He's been overworked. As much as I don't want to see Reimer in the net, I think they need to give him some games.
This team is so boring to watch. Even when they do win its boring hockey. I get so frustrated watching them blow defensive assignments. There not making playoffs…there's no way. There is no one making good plays or crisp passing or attacking the net. Nothing. They don't hit or check. They don't make any exciting plays. I've had it man. Where is the hussle or urgency? They play the same every game. There is never any real pressure put on other team. There so boring to watch. Blow this team up. Don't like the coach either. His system is not working. It's average at best. I know canucks are amazing but red wings know how important it is to win right now and that's the effort or performance we got? They had like 1 shot on goal in 4 power plays. Unacceptable. And petry is terrible, I want him gone he just takes up space on ice. He does nothing. When he is on ice it's basically like the other team is a on a power play cause he is non existent out there
While Kane isn't a problem, it's that the other players seem to slow down and relax when he's on the ice, no movement, no urgency.
How is Kane meant to set you up with an amazing pass if you sit in one spot and don't make the defense work?
Steve brought in a lot of guys over the last few years in an attempt to make the playoffs. Wish he had just stayed the course with the young talent. How much longer did you give Yerman? Another year, 2 years? I would have preferred him build a cup contender over 8 years, then a playoff team over 6.
Why dont the Wings give Berrgren a fair shot.instead of sending him back to Grand Rapids every time after he produces ?
That gloomy feeling has returned. Don’t know what else to say. I don’t think we’re making playoffs but I have accepted it. Kane comes back and we’re trash again. Not sure what the correlation is there yet, but it is there.

They cant beat the good teams with a few exceptions. 2 losses to Edmonton, Vancouver, Dallas, Carolina. No superstar talent that comes with top 3 picks

Brian can continue to rattle off all the Corsi statistics but by the end of the day there's one statistic that supersedes all others. The fact is that the Kane signing upset the entire team chemistry and is born out in the most important statistic, wins. Need a little less cheerleading and more unbias analysis.

I didn't take the game seriously at all. Expected Vancouver to roll over the Wings. Beat the teams you have to beat, battle with those on the same level, and fight until the trade deadline. One game at a time. Better chance tomorrow with Calgary.
This Lalonde-event hockey can be effective when they're on top of their game. When they're not, they look utterly hopeless. I had to stop watching at 3-0. Just not fun to watch.
There are too many little fundamental things I don't think they do well to write down here. I think Petry screwed up on his turnover, but look at where his teammates are. He had basically no options, and I often find myself wondering where the forwards are when the defense is trying to move the puck up ice. They still don't shoot enough even when they outshoot the other team, and the defensive structure always looks a little shaky even when Lalonde comes out of it talking about how few chances they gave up.
I just kind of feel like they aren't really improve. They play at a level that's good enough to win on any given night, but they're inconsistent enough to lose on any given night. I think this is just part of them being a relatively immature team, but I want to see some form of growth.
