  1. Even if they take McCann the trade wasn't just giving players away…. they were going to lose kerfoot and didn't want to, so they traded for something else that Seattle would would want instead…. I don't mind the trade at all considering it is really just acquiring another asset and doing so for a great price…. it is a no lose situation imo

  2. That’s exactly why they traded for McCann because the Kraken are asking for a second round pick to protect Kerfoot so they paid less of a price to get someone better than kerfoot so they don’t select him

  3. Would love to see Dermott go to the Kraken, and the Leafs keep Kerfoot and McCann….How about Kerfoot McCann and whoever else insert here winger on the third line?

  4. I do not mean to sound like a troll but maybe it’s time for an organizational shakeup at the top there?

  5. Agree 100% with Wylde, Holl makes more sense to expose. Replaceable players are available (ie. Savard 30y/o 1-yr $1.634M as per Evolving Hockey). Seattle side deal to take Dermott???

  6. It’s funny how anyone thinks the Leafs can win anything right now when they don’t have 7 forwards worth protecting.

  7. mccan was on pace for 74points over an 82game season. how is this even a conversation? Mccan is BY FAR the best player available on the leafs

  8. Toronto should figure out away to leave Dubas & Shanahan exposed and hope they get taken. Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum.

  9. Every time someone says "I loved the Kerfoot I saw in the playoffs" I cringe. You mean the guy who would consistently lose the puck at the opposing blue line, allowing a team that could only score off odd man rushes to get, you guessed it, odd man rushes? That player? I agree that his body of work was better than most Leafs this playoffs, but I think that was the best we'll ever see of Kerfoot; talented, fast, ok hands, but nothing above the neck

  10. Yes, Leafs fans are all about stats… yet they think they can move a 20m dollar player in with 100k cap room.

  11. You’re never gonna find a top 4 defensemen with 2 million cap hit. Holl is coming off the best season and most safe and cheaper option Leafs have. These guys saying like Leafs can easily find a defensemen can play 20+ min without paying more than 2 mil. Holl is a very important piece of a team that have very little cap room to work with

  12. Everybody forgeting about the 1.5mill defencemen thats availible for them too that just signed y wouldnt seatle take him everybody so focused on kerfoot well if they do take the defencemen i wouldnt be shocked its a much better thing for the cap (sorry I dont know how to spell his name and i dont want to get it wrong lol also dont want to check)

  13. Depends how they go with other teams as well, and what their needs would be, thinking Kerfoot, Hoping Dermott

  14. The statisticians and pundits predict another early first round exit next year for the leafs. So. It really doesn’t matter what decisions they make.

  15. i think you guys are wrong on this one – kerfoot is useful, but not the impact we need for that price on the third line. McCann would be a better, cheaper, younger choice to keep, with higher upside on the 1st/2nd wing. Holl is good with Muzzin – we KNOW that. Dermott will likely be passed by Sandin (if not already), and next year lily should make his show too. Right there we have an amazing D corps.

  16. Dumbas* will trade for another tin man from the wizard of oz(he was the character with no heart)

  17. If you were going to lose just one of these 4 players which one would be the least hurtful…. Kerfoot, McCann, McDermot and Holl…. and my pick would be Holl closely followed by McDermot. Dumbass is NOT a good GM… Toronto do NOT have enough good forwards and now they just lost one even though you traded for him

  18. who.cares. They take any player they want and it would make no difference for Toronto. The only exception is Marner. Trade him and and then maybe the Leafs have a chance of winning a series for once.

  19. Keeping Kerfoot isn't that smart move. Kerfoot is a bum and now Hyman will be gone too.

Why does being a fan of this team feel like a persistent kick to my nads?

  20. Hahaha McCann gone. Hyman singing with Edmonton. No cap space, get used to continuing to lose leaf land
