Love your laid back style of commentary. Re the goaltending: I hate to say this but Ken Holland has been a bit of a train wreck when it comes to goaltending. Sure, Stuart Skinner saved the Oilers season last year but was a bust in the playoffs. Yes, rookie season and all, but imo he should have gone all out and got a legitimate #1 goaltender prior to this season. McDavid/Draisaitl are into their prime and Holland just hopes his current goaltenders will be better. Skinner is not a #1 goaltender right now and it’s ludicrous to waste McDavid’s career with poor goaltending. I don’t know what’s available out there right now but forget all the other holes in lineup….just do whatever it takes to get that goaltender. All imho of course.

pretty sad how the boys have tuned out another coach, once again the boys no longer give a fuck about defense and only care about getting goals.
We 100% have to get rid of Kane. His plus minus is the worst on the team. He sucks so bad. He's lazy, selfish, stupid. I will make a prediction right now. There is no way OIlers can win Evander Kane on the team. I've watched so many of his mistakes and he single handedly is destroying the Oilers.
It's time for the Oilers to finally get rid of Kane. Hendrique sucks too.
Oilers will not be able to win unless they contend with the growing ego of Leon……..he is not as important as he thinks he is. Trading him gives us the best “return assets” we need to win a Stanley Cup. I can’t see us winning with him in the lineup…….just saying.
The inconsistency of Ryan McLeod, Warren Fogele, Dylan Holloway ( needs more playing time) Connor Brown not producing. And with Darnell Nurse and Cody Ceci struggling as of late, really shows that the oilers reliance on the Ekholm/Bouch and McDavid line is what drives the team. Which it should. But the lack of production from the players I mentioned hurts the team when that McDavid line isn’t as dominant. If Nurse and Ceci can get back to play solid defense that’s what will help the team get back to its winning ways
Stu Skinner also will be fine. He’s a young goalie still. Even Igor Shesterkin struggled this year. Markstrom went thru a tough time. Hellybuck has struggled as well. But him and Markstrom are veterans. And thatcher Demko is in his pristine years. I’m not saying skinner is any of these goalies but he’s younger and still learning
Every cup contender team has a legit goalie, making the save at the right moment. Skinner is not there yet, so Oilers still need a No.1 goalie. How Oilers made the cup run 05-06, Roloson was the key player. How they lost the cup also bc Roloson was injured. So need a legit goalie. the true starter
Matt Dumba might help at least for depth purposes & probably at lower cost than Tanev. So Tanev option A. Dumba option B for now.

Boston could use a save but pp in overtime was good just swayman made some big saves. Kane did not skate in overtime in that icing. And they were tired. Kane should not play 3 v 3 not quick enough or agile to cover that space.

Have u look at Skinner usage 40 starts in 55. 72 % and he has played 41 of 55. 74.5%. as a 1a. Likely 55-60% is where u optimized Skinner. So he is likely 15-20% over used.
Look at Thompson and adin hill when both r in the the line up for Vegas as 1a and 1b. They r around 50% each in starts and usage to try to optimized them and not get as much high and lows or slumps or wear and tear esp wit the west travels.
Or Boston usage of swayman and ullmark to optimized their play . But they r in the east so less travel time.
Can pickard can play every 3rd game. Prefer a 1b like marzek Allen Reimer kaphonen blackwood to split games with Skinner as the 1a.
I wish that Buffalo would be willing to trade 27 yr old Alex Tuch who's a rw & big power forward. Cap hit around 4.75 million per year about 2 yrs left. Especially if Guentzel is no longer an option.
Tanev is an expensive option. Defense has been off as well as goaltending . Drai looks injured and frustrated. Hopefully team wakes up for LA . Thanks for the update

Like I said for weeks now go get a top D man, your Defensive capabilities are based on 4 average guys! Going without a top 4 you can could be out in the playoffs quickly! Remember the grind these playoffs are you need guys who are dependable and skilled. Like some other guys are saying what has RNH done, he disappears in games and looks slow and out of place at times, Kane and Perry will be indispensable come playoffs you still need a big body out there to clear a path for Connor! I wouldn’t hesitate to move RNH for a top D man! Look at Florida they moved there top guy in order to get better for the playoffs so don’t be afraid to make a splash!!
The problem with Kane is he can't play with McLeod. Nobody can and he's been stuck with him for the last few games. Please, just focus on McLeod next game. Unless he has a fluky one, you'll see he does absolutely nothing. Never hits, doesn't go to the net, always out of place, and doesn't break up a single play in the D zone. Either way, the oilers need to make enough moves at the deadline so that McLeod gets pushed to our 4th line. We don't stand a chance with him anywhere near our top 9.
A god dam goalie look Skinner and Picks have been good but that can only last so long and now the ugly side is showing again. We need someone that can be good in net 90% of the time and steal games. The defensive side of this team needs to step up I know this is a running thing but it’s true shutdown players block them out throw some hits. My last thing is the star players need to show up. They need to control their emotions and show the other players some leadership by scoring goals. I get Connor and Leon are frustrated but taking a stupid penalty is not the way to show the guys your in this. Hustling hard and crashing the net and setting up plays shows the guys your in it and the rest of the team will follow.
If Mr Dithers didn't take the summers off & wait to the last minute for both free agency shopping & trade deadline day this team would be in a better position imo. I still say he should have chosen Darcy Kuemper instead of Jack Campbell especially since DK won a Cup that summer & his stats in Arizona the previous years were good, considering the team. Then last summer there was talk of LA moving Sean Durzi & they did eventually moved him to Arizona for a 2nd rnd pick unbelievable how our GM never tries to make opportunites like that work. Matt Dumba was also a ufa but No Holland cant be bothered. Any coincidence maybe those 2 have helped Arizona improve this year? Maybe. I can hardly wait until your time as GM is over KH, Red Wings fans were right.

I’d like to see a top 6 forward and put Nuge at 3rd line center. Having McDavid, Draisaitl and Nuge up the middle would be a great playoff center depth. Goalie has to be Marc-Andre Fluery.
Goaltending is not the main issue. Their major issues (AGAIN…🤦) start in the neutral zone
I don't whether it's the way they're bringing the puck up and not executing or the system the coaches are using for breaking out pucks or whatever it is but their neutral zone from the center line to the opposition blue line is absolutely atrocious since the All Star break (same exact thing back in October as well)
Turnovers turnovers turnovers galore equals all 3 forwards being well behind the play and having their D men having to scramble back (hell even one of the D men might friggin be behind the play as well 🤦) like chickens with their heads cut off and boom…odd man rush ten bell alarm shot on goal
I get some of the softer goals against (definitley not letting the goaltenders off the hook here either I should clarify) but you can't expect a save every single time there's one of those god awful wide open Defcon 5 chances against.
Case in point being the win streak…they really did a great job (for the most part) limiting said chances which in turn allowed both goalies to appear rock solid and calm in net (Sorry but even Hellebuyck wasn't bailing their butts outta that game last night)
With that said, they do need an upgrade or two but this is pretty much the exact same group right now (other than Perry and Hamlin) that was able to actually execute that solid defending (also the exact same group that had that god awful October too 🤷)
It's details and execution in the neutral zone. Don't forget that forwards are a big part of back checking and defending as well
16 in a row by playing excellent team defense. Not doing that now. Calgary had too many excellent looks at Skinner and scored on a few of them. No matter who is in goal not going to stop that many wide-open chances. Played 3 games in 4 nights. They looked tired; a step slower than a more well- rested team. No excuses, every team has a schedule like that at some point during the season. It's a long season. Everyone is going to have a stinker or two. I'd like to see them shoot more. They seem to want to make the fancy play and are always passing the puck to try and do so. McDavid scored 64 last year. Won't even get close to that number this year. How is that possible? He won't get that many every year, but this is a big and worrying drop-off. Is it possible that he does have some sort of injury that's holding him back? He seems different from last year. I want to see all of them shoot the damn puck more. Think shoot first. 'Shooter's mentality". 'Defense first mentality' too. Good offense comes from good defense. Seems to me that the way to beat the Oilers is to forecheck the hell out of them. Not enough defensive help from the forwards. Not only are the goalies left all by themselves all too often, but the defensemen are overwhelmed. Get back to playing the way they did when they had that winning streak. Can't play like this and expect to win in the playoffs. That's assuming they make the playoffs.
Hope Oilers gets Henque, and Corrmick but Tanev high price,, probably Walker. and also oilers could gets Jarry goalie from Penguins

And they,are the most hitted persons in ice, because the rest of our team isnt on their class. Starting woth defense, Nurse has a 9 million Dollar contract, Campbell a five million, Buchard only interested in doing slapshots instead of defending our slot in front if the goal, the swedish Hercules only plays hard in the corners also not in the slot, and the rest i will not say it here. Which one of these defenders will protect our two world class players when they were horrible hitted or slashed like Leon from the Vegas asshole???!!!
Nobody, abd thats the case. Both should do all in this team, creating goals, mor assists and are responsible for the powerplay too. Leon als plays sometimes also when we are outnumbered, so what? How many goals will Zack do, when both are gone? How many Kane or RNH? IT is really easy to criticize the players who do the most because they can do more faults because they do all and not nothing! Take the last game against Calgary. Never was Connor so much hitted or checked, who helped? Only Leon but he was also checked hard and hitted, so what? Teamspirit where are you? Someone says Leon would only score on powerplay, what a call. If he isnt at this position how often do we score, only Connor is able to play a shootable pass to the right which he always bombed into the goal! Seen last year's playoffs? First 11 oilers goals was shot by whom?
So i say it again, if you all want it, then trade Leon first and Connor will go also a year later. I dont think that a Canadian franchise will get two new players with their quality, and more bad the other clubs will take both with a big smile on their faces!!! Everything is just bad, including the look on so many of the players faces – LEON -. The line shuffling needs to stop. They’ve lost all chemistry since Perry got here. Sure he’s been great, absolutely, but at the cost of everyone else! We just suck right now.
I'm not concerned about the recent struggles, we are going to get upgrades to our forward group and defenseman, then we will be primed to go on a run to the 3rd round at minimum!
Unless they upgrade in goal, they'll be 1 and done again in the playoffs
