Let’s be honest tanev was a good shutdown defence but he wasn’t a big difference maker the younger guys will need to step up. This isn’t the only season of hockey gotta think about what’s to come not bank on a maybe post season this year. Picks can be traded for offence players yet
Connie basically got two 3rd rounders and some B prospect that was the Dallas 5th best prospect in their system. Because Dallas is top 5 in the standings so that 2nd is basically a 3rd rounder. Epic fail. This is worst than the Zadorov trade

I was a bit optimistic after the lindholm trade but Conroy is back at getting fleeced again. Monahan is awful in the playoffs but Montreal got a 1st for him. Tanev is a warrior and we got almost nothing for him because of the salary retention.
They traded 23 games of Tanev and 50% of his salary…for 23 games! some people just don't get it. If someone was willing to pay a first they would have taken it obviously
I'm ok with the return. 34 year old D man who is a UFA and prone to injury. The market is what it is. Picks are the highest gamble, people forget that, plus the wait time. I just hate that it is a team that competes with Winnipeg possibly in the first round. Short term loss for long term gain regardless of how the Futures pan out.
I’m not gonna lie… VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! Conroy would have for sure gotten a way better prospect if he would of waited till next week…If injury was a worry we could have easily kept tanev out of the lineup… Dallas fleeced us on this one…🙈

Only getting one 1st rounder out of the Toffoli, Zadorov, Lindholm, and Tanev trades is a little concerning…
