    Now will everyone calm down?

Yes TNSE have things to fix and by what they’ve been saying they are going to.

If you have opinions on what needs fixing, make it known to them!

But otherwise, *the Jets are not leaving*

My jimmies are no longer rustled

Obviously, Bettman was never going to come in here and start ringing the alarm bell, but this has a much more positive tone than I was expecting.

He gets slightly less booing from me for the remainder of this season, then it’s back to on sight for Bettman.

  4. Fallen-Omega

A famous quite from OG coach Cluade Noel after a loss, which fits perfectly for this

« Can we put the knives and rope away..!?!? »

People need to stop the thinking that Bettman is just waiting for any opportunity to move the Jets. Yes, he would have preferred they stayed in Atlanta or moved to somewhere like Houston instead, but now that they’re here, he doesn’t want them to fail/leave. Teams relocating is messy and a bad look for any pro sports league, and since Bettman became commissoner, the NHL has shown they have no interest in moving team unless there is literally no other option.

I wonder how people will spin this negatively

« unless things stay like this long term »

  8. DannyDOH

Except from the owner who keeps mentioning concern for the long-term viability of the franchise and then backtracking when asked to clarify.

I want to feel reassured but also don’t trust a damn thing that comes out of Bettman’s mouth.

People still have PTSD from Jets 1.0.

Completely different league and situation The axe may forget, but the tree remembers.

  11. MattyDuns1455

Paul Freisen is fuming at his laptop trying to figure out how he is going to spin zone this in his favour.

I understand that media outlets are struggling but it’s hard not to blame them for creating this unnecessary panic. How many of us read Jets related news articles in the last 72 hours? Click baits? We also know that larger companies need to step up too.

Bettman seemed shaky and somewhat unsteady during the news conference. I noticed that before in some recent video. He’s been in the game a long time, overseen a lot of expansion, relocation and the like. Wonder when there will be talk of a succession plan.

Pro sports is changing faster now than it ever has. From sports betting to emerging tech to who knows what – there’s a lot to deal with on the horizon and I suspect discussion around implementing some fresh dynamic leadership at the league level will be around the corner.

  14. Astrowelkyn

The quote was actually a directive by Bettman to the local media, but they missed the comma.

“No, talk of the Winnipeg Jets relocating.” /s

  15. SmallFOV

Fine, I’ll put my tomato down. For now

  16. Amos_Burton666

Exactly as I said. The whole thing was driven by clickbait headlines and Chris Johnston wanting so bad to break a big story.

  17. hoganwhopperdump

see you at the moose games, this teams done.

  18. daveymick

It was so cringe though at the end of his presser

Reporter: So what’s your final message to fans who have had anxiety over the last 72 hrs?
Bettmen: Get over your anxiety and come out to games.

    💀💀💀

  19. superduperf1nerder

He doesn’t really have anywhere to move them too.

  20. realmattbarry

Gary Bettman supporting a small market team NOT NAMED ARIZONA?!

No talk of any Canadian teams ever ever hoisting the cup ever again: piece of shit Bettman.

  22. People like Paul Friesen don’t understand how business people talk. Saying that the state of a business isn’t viable long term isn’t a veiled threat that they’re going to take their ball to someone else’s yard. It’s a know that they have work to do. Nothing else.

    Business people talk weird.
