Quand Walt est au bar dans S5:E15 « Granite State », il y a un jeu des Pionniers à la télé. J’ai regardé cette émission trop souvent mais je ne l’ai jamais remarqué jusqu’à présent.

Graham Melanson was a Wisconsin goalie (and one of my favorites) from 97-98 to 00-01. He backed up Mike Valley, who spent some time as a Dallas Stars coach, for only a year on search but I had thought it was a couple. Rycroft was obviously a Pio from 97-09 to 99-01. Back then the B1G (hockey) / NCHC didn’t exist, UW and DU were WCHA rivals. I had to google when « Granite State » took place, but apparently 2013. As great as those old Wisconsin / Denver / Minnesota / North Dakota games were, it is still very odd to be watching a 13-15 year old WCHA game in a New Hampshire bar. Hockey East always insisted how much faster, and by extension, better their conference was.
What I recall of Melanson, which might be wrong, is that he had this goalie helmet painted like an egg cracking open and this baby bird starting to poke out. It was completely unrelated to Wisconsin or Bucky and wasn’t even red, and yet still totally awesome. Apparently he does financial investments in energy now. -Anyway, thanks for the trip down memory lane and google.
