Pretty smart move, though. Leafs will keep playing Reaves, expecting Rempe to fight. The more ice time Reaves gets is more ice time that the leafs aren’t scoring.

I’m not really sure why everyone is jumping on Reaves here. In my eyes he’s giving the kid a chance to do what got him here, and it’s not like he chased him around the ice and forced him into something he didn’t want. Kid said no, Reaves backed off. Fair play to all.
I don’t even like fighting in the league, I think the time has passed for it, but this just seems like a conversation between two guys who know what they’re here for. Might not happen tonight, but if Rempe can stick around I’m sure Reaves will give him another shot.
