canes deadline preview starts at 1:04:00 or so into the pod.

Basically the summary of his take is that people are questioning if this is the time the Hurricanes bend their principles and go for a big name like Guentzel. He said many people are asking that question.

He also highlighted that Pitt says they want prospects for Guentzel and Carolina has one of the best crops of guys available right now.

He wasn’t willing to say hey Carolina is gonna swing for it but, he’s hearing from his sources that the questions are being asked.

Also really loved hearing him clarify for all the crazies that our front office knows the issues we have scoring. They aren’t just sitting on their hands.

Could we see a crazy deadline where we go get Buch/Vatrano and Guentzel?

  2. 4 prospects the Cane’s should NOT move:
    Nikishin,
    Morrow,
    Blake,
    Nadeau

  3. We’ve been screaming it for the last few years and apparently they do not see the same things…

Unless Necas is a total slouch/underperformer at practice and has pissed Roddy off in a way that skinner obviously did I’ll never understand why he hasn’t had a legit chance to play 2C. He fast, has a hell of a shot, and there’s absolutely a greater than zero% chance it unlocks his full potential.

It’s hard to responsibly go all in and give up top prospects, depth, or picks. You can’t magically go get impact players for nothing.

They’ve been linked to and willing to make to big moves but just didn’t work out.
