This was a good return for Seattle on a guy who's only scored 40 or more points twice in his career. The Rangers get a solid, versatile player who can slot anywhere in their lineup when needed.

Is this the first Conditional Draft Pick that was based on Player's Stats? I know some have been in place for team preformance, but for a player's stats? It's strange, doubly so because it's very likely to not happen.

Missing Fil the most. Needed a bottom six center who can also kill penalties. That’s decent business. The cap savings will be nice if it lets us add a high end scoring wing instead of just depth. The Wolfpack have depth wings we can use in the bottom six

I luv how NHL GMs have decided not to wait for the actual trade deadline day to make the trades they know they want to make. All the sports networks are now scrambling to create content for deadline day because most of the trades will have already been made lol. I hope this is more that just a trend for this season.

The 2025 4th from Dallas is conditional, it was part of the Nils Lundkvist trade and the condition is if Lundkvist gets 55 points until the draft year of the pick if becomes a third, he has 31 right now

I know NYR's depth at C is slim so this is helpful, but I would've preferred those assets go towards acquiring Guentzel/Tuch/Buchnevich. the third line still would've benefitted bc Kakko would move down from the top line. idk it feels a little steep, especially since he's a rental, but maybe he'll mesh well.

Love watching teams make trades then flame out in the playoffs earlier. Teams that don't do anything are far better shape.
