Did not see this coming. Wonder what it means for KK…

  2. anivoflean

someone is moving out right? i can’t imagine we sit fast or noesen or kk.

  3. The_Crypto_Caniac

He got attitude and drugs issues right ? But he’s talented as fuck. I think a coach like RBA can help him.

  4. MrHockey95

Very interesting. There’s more moves to be made it seems

  5. Flash_Gordon_Bombay

I guess if Florida can be ‘Canes South’ and the place where all the Russians go, we can be Russia North and be the next best location.

  6. Tedy_Duchamp

I repent. I will never utter the phrase “we like our group” in a mocking fashion ever again.

  7. J_3ackers_

Donny took those deadline allegations seriously this year and I AM ALL FOR IT🔥🔥🔥

  8. Additional_Ratio_743

well maybe we’ll at least win in a shootout now

  9. lil_geesey

A change of scenery, a locker room with a big culture of accountability, back with your best friend, and all of a sudden you’re back in the hunt for a cup. I hope this is enough to get Kuzy fired up and close to form again

  10. Could potentially be a solid addition if he has worked out his personal issues. Low risk high reward.

  11. Honestly, at 50% retention the 3.9M hit for this year and next is pretty good if this pans out at all.

  12. No_Mulberry_2776

Well at least this might fix our shootout woes…..

With Orlov, Svech and Koochy here, I’m hoping that alongside a refreshed perspective and the chance at a Cup Kuznetsov returns to his elite form

  14. SokkasBoomerang3

I have a 99% chance that Kuznetsov doesn’t work and he gets dumped

  15. denvercaniac

Are we sure this is the Carolina Hurricanes?

Here is our reclamation player. If he gets going it can be big obviously but I have high doubts. Just because he has a friend here won’t solve everything, that is wishful thinking. He’s got to put in his effort and I’m unsure he is willing to do that.

  18. vanman1996

Well Emily Kaplans pre-season bold prediction was right apparently. A couple of years ago when Rod coached the All Star game he and Kuzy had a lot of respect for each other

  19. mindseyecoil

Ok, this one was NOT on my bingo card. But I have a good friend who’s a Caps fan and went to the game with me where Orlov scored the GWG against Arizona. He’ll probably be hype for this at the very least.

Another Conn Smythe finalist added.  Kuznetsov is a very high upside swing if he decides he wants to try.

The meme in Washington was « Kuzy cares » because it was so obvious when he decided he actually wanted to compete in a game or series.  It isn’t a given but Kuznetsov has millions of reasons to care about playing well for the Canes for at least one Playoff run.

The drug stuff is way overblown.  These are 20-30 year old millionaires who get drug tested once a year in the off-season.  Connect the dots.  Some of them certainly use cocaine sometimes.

Will be interesting to see how Brind’amour deals with Kuzy’s BS on and off the ice

  22. denvercaniac

Don heard all the shit-talking and decided to go HAMF.

  23. JoeMorgue

I like how for both of our pickups if you ask about them literally the first thing you hear is « Well they tend to score a lot in the play offs. »

  24. Winring86

Love it. Was thinking this might make sense for us. Take a waiver on a very talented (but struggling) player. We needed more center depth badly.

  25. Minute-Struggle6052

    The Dundon plan:

Step 1 – Become good enough to oust Pittsburgh and Washington from Playoff contention

Step 2 – Trade for one franchise icon from each team

Step 3 – Collect that sweet, sweet bandwagon money from two of the biggest fan bases in the Metro

  26. ShittyFrogMeme

This likely means that they thought the prices for other players like Buch were too high. The pundit speculation this morning was that the Canes would look for low value moves vs make another big splash. Exactly what this is

This is a gamble but he’s someone who can be buried this season if it fails. The larger concern IMO is that he is under contract next year. I am sure the FO has a plan but if he ends up eating cap that could go to our expiring FAs, that will suck.

  27. lil_geesey

One underrated piece of this is we might actually win a shootout now

  28. youngchoch

I think we can get him back to his potential . Could be massive if so. I think we’re really one of the only teams capable of doing it .

  29. that-bro-dad

Hmmmm I’m going to withhold judgment on this but he could be exactly what we need.
