  1. So glad they passed on Zucker. Drance nailed it with all the additions the Canucks made all season long. They have done such a good job that they don't need to do any major moves.

If this was the Benning era, the top prospects and draft picks would have been sacrificed at this deadline.

  2. No. We have young assets who will mature and current assets who ate maturing. With the flu waning, the energy and mindsets are returning

  3. Canucks had already spent more than enough on Lindholm and Zadorov. Too much imo, so I’m glad they’ve decided to go which what they have already

  4. This may be one of the first times I agree with Drance. Our deadline capital was already spent on Hronek, Desmith, Lindholm and Zadorov.

  5. 0:51 Everyone keeps saying "unable to land" when they should be saying, "The price was too high for this non-Benning management group. Very wise that they didn't overspend at this deadline." I feel like some people would rather the Canucks be the first team in league history to end the season with none of the players they started with… lol. Christ. They need to move a small contract for maybe a pick or prospect, clearing cap space to lock in Kessel, and that's it. Lindholm is taking a while to settle into the lineup, but then he has been shuffled around a ton. Maybe that third line C, while kind of an expensive 3C, is where he belongs. It sure as hell will make them hard to play against.

Hey, if the right trade is there, I feel like this management group will be making it. Let them cook.

5:39 Waiting for the trade deadline to make trades is kind of stupid anyway, because that's when the prices are unnaturally inflated.

8:09 Is there no way to look back a few months to all the trades they've already made? There must be a way.

"BuT rOb, CaNuCkS nEeDeD oNe MoAr tOp SiX fOrWaRd!" Yeah. I know. But this isn't a cap-free league. Given the moves they've made this season, they've shaken up the team enough to show results like "best team in the West." It's not perfect, but it's infinitely better than the past decade. And they did it FAST.

It's sad when a team has made a pile of moves throughout the season, and here we are, hoping for more. +side-eyes the Vancouver Is Awesome website+

  6. This is not a surprise but it’s a bit concerning that at this time the Canucks lines are very unstable.

  7. I am not upset. Lekkerimaki, and pattersson coming in soon be nice. Podkozkin proved he can stick with canucks .

  8. not disappointed. building a cup team is a process and the canucks are early in the process. cup in 2-3 years.

  9. How the Canucks' rivals were adding piece after piece does make me feel nervous, but Drance is right in pointing out that the Canucks have made their share of moves all season long prior to the deadline, and probably need not make any more knee-jerk moves today to "keep up with the Jones." I said before the all-star break that I did not feel this is quite the year yet and that the team needs one modest Cup run to learn how to win. The team now has not sacrificed any of their top prospects and have a team that probably can go two or three rounds into the playoffs… Let's just see how things would go.

  10. Yeah the Canucks couldn't do anything really, and who ya gonna blame? Benning. This guy had a pathological need to rid himself of as many draft picks, for good or bad, that he could get his hands on. It seems it's been like that since day one really. Welcome to the Canuckverse.

  11. The ignorance of this fanbase to believe not doing anything is a good thing is wild. There is a reason Rutherford was in on the best players, cuz Van needs firepower. The team is one maybe two bad injuries away from being irrelevant. We need more. This fanbase is so stupid.

  12. The Canucks never seem to get much at this time of year. I suppose the reason is cuz the price, at this time of the year, is too high. But the GM has done lots this year in bringing in Zadorov, Desmith, and Lindholm. And done it at a time where the price wasn't so high, maybe.
