@Canucks de Vancouver

LES CANUCKS NE FONT AUCUN MOMENT À LA DATE LIMITE DES ÉCHANGES… ET CELA ME VA BIEN

We pretty much used up our assets for the trades we made up to the deadline. I'm okay with the deadline, although it would've been nice to ALSO have the cap space to make a signing or one more trade.

  2. Hi Clay, I 100% agree with you and kinda glad they didn’t do anything because I was worried they’d move on from more prospects

  3. They wasted everything in the Lindholm trade by not doing anything more they would have better off not even making that trade.

  4. No vote of confidence has never work and I don’t see this team as a Stanley cup team they will get knocked out first round.

  5. I applaud management for standing firm and NOT mortgaging their future. The Canucks are not a Championship team just quite yet, and that's why they are holding on to prospects and picks. IMO they have a 4-5 year window to win Lord Stanley, so looking ahead is smart.
Finally we have a GM who knows how to build a winning culture; and not make hasty foolish moves at the trade deadline that hurts the following season.

  6. If the Canucks can play consistently like how they played against Vegas last night, I’m ok with no new signings.

  7. I’m happy we didn’t make any moves today, I’m a big fan of building from the draft and getting prospects. I was disappointed when we made the lindholm trade and felt at the time we had given up too much. This feeling was reaffirmed after seeing some of the other trades that were made by other teams. Would have rather had us go after Hanifin.

  8. I was a bit disappointed the Canucks didn't make one move today. While I know the big names were probably out of reach and we didn't have the cap space or assets to acquire them it still needs to be said this is the best chance we have seen at a run in nearly a decade and not even a small upgrade or depth move was made while the other heavy contenders we barely could keep up with before the trades they made all upgraded and improved extensively it would have been nice to see a small move to counter that.

  9. I'm optimistic. Before the deadline, there was definitely a part of me that was hoping for a big splash, but after Wednesday I started to cool off. We have 8 more years of Petey, 6 more years of Miller (who seems to have the unusual quality for a power forward of getting better with age), Hronek will be locked in soon, the stable of prospects is excellent, the cap will go up and give us headroom to keep whomever of Boeser, Demko and Hughes wants to stick around (as tough as it is, I respect Quinn's desire to play with his brothers, but we will just have to wait and see how that plays out).

This team is a serious contender this year. "Cup or bust" isn't a real strategy that management teams employ outside of extreme circumstances or extreme incompetency. I will not judge the Zadorov and Lindholm acquisitions on whether or not the team wins a cup. With Allvin and Rutherford clearly planning to build this team into a perennial contender, any playoff experience will be extremely valuable for the core group. Those trades were good trades because they give the team a better chance of going deeper than they otherwise would have, and that's the kind of season we're looking for. And heck, they might win it all. But considering where they were before management changed hands, and considering how much better they've gotten basically overnight, I'm feeling really good about this group.

  10. Every Canuck fan will be a little dissapointed today that they didn't do ANYTHING. But in the end it's okay, because you have to play the long game here. They had already used up what they had in all previous trades going back to training camp, so the only thing left to do is see how this group performs in the playoffs. Then we can worry about more moves in the summer. Go Nucks!

  11. Feeling content. Adding or subtracting too much from the room can throw off the chemistry of a gelled team. Right now it looks like the Canucks have settled well and are just fine tuning systems for the playoffs. Lindholm coming along alright, is winning his face-offs, and had some good chances in the Vegas game. Mikyehev even looks like he's picking up his game a bit (just in time).

  12. I'm fine. A lot of the buyers today practically sold their futures, which I believed the Canucks should not do. Regarding Kessel, it would had been an intriguing signing, but one that would not move the needle (at least for me).

  13. I don't think I've been very happy with Canucks trades lately. I'm looking only as far back as 2020 and the players that have helped the team offensively have been Toffoli, Garland, and Hronek. Yes you can say defense wins games but no defense can win games if you can't score goals either. Before the all star break, the Canucks could blow out their opponents. Now, they have trouble registering up to 4 goals.

  14. I would have liked Kessel in the room. Would not give up Hoglander or Podkolzin up for anybody. This team as it stands is headed for a great 2024. 🏆

  15. It's ok with no moves today
GO CANUCKS GO YEA BABY GOD BLESS YOU CLAY AND FAMILY MEMBERS HERE ❤❤❤🙏🙏😇😇

  16. They definitely should have picked up toffoli for how cheap he went to the jets and i was pretty disappointed about that but the canucks are good like @nuckhead has told us all season so hopefully they can keep it up ✊️🔛🪵

  17. I believe they pursued Guentzel for sure, but I don't even think they called about Toffoli. The price was low for a 30g scorer. He's clutch and was a big reason the Canucks went far in the bubble. He was likely to re-sign and we only have 3 top 6 forwards next year. Hoglander and Garland are 3rd liners. We have 25m to fill out 4 forward spots(2 top 6), 5 defense and a backup goaltender. 🤔

  18. I think the canucks do have a strong team and dont need to give away more prospects or picks for players that might ruin the team chemistry. Looks like they are learning from old Jimbo mistakes

  19. I dont hate it . Cause i know the fact. Even if canucks get knocked out and dont win the cup. Lekkerimaki and willander , pattersson d are on the way next year with podkozkin doing really well. I feel we will win the cup soon. If we retain hronzek and joshua

  20. They should have done something to improve the wings (not Kessel). There were teams interested in Lindholm and he has underperformed, (regardless of what Lindholm and Allvin fanboys think) and is probably going to leave in the summer. You don’t have to sell the future to make something happen. This is a golden opportunity wasted to make something special happen. Allvin did not do well this deadline

  21. Canuck Clay you are all over the map…. You said they did nothing as a "vote of confidence for this team" and a few weeks ago your messaging was that management "owed it to the team to try and make it better…" which one is it?

  22. I wished they traded away tucker poolman from his contract that tucker poolman hasn’t played in like in 2 years ago they should’ve traded his contract to a different team

  23. So in that case, I dedicate this YouTube song video to the VANCOUVER CANUCKS……🎶🎶Tova – Team (From "Marvel Rising: Heart of Iron"/Official Lyric Video)🎶🎶 Clay, It is IMPERATIVE that you should listen to this and share it to the TEAM and use it in the locker room to BOOST CONFIDENSE in the TEAM WORK that must be attain to survive this season. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE THESE.🤞🤞

  24. Fine with it: Kept Hoglander, D-EP, Lekkerimaki & Willander. Canucks future is bright!
