  1. When it gets closer, would you be able to cover / review the Amerks during their playoff push?
Appreciate all of your hard work & dedication, Sir!

  2. I honestly believe the captaincy goes to Tuch or Dahlin. Cozens gets an “A”. Let’s see who steps up in the locker room.

  3. Wow, we are still in this! Can we take a moment to acknowledge how incredible they played defense today, and have been for over 2 months now? Think about how horrible we played defense last year and how good we are playing it now. This is a MASSIVE improvement in just one season. We stopped McDavid’s 13 game point streak and shut them down, which led to offense. I no longer view this season as a setback but a necessary learning curve to play offense differently. The numbers in the standings suck but we have to view this is as a necessary step forward.

  4. I was listening on the radio and turned the channel as soon as Power “scored”. 10 minutes later,I get the notification on my phone that said the Sabres won in a shootout. I was certainly confused.

  5. I will not give up hope. We play the Wings 3 more times (I think) and we've done well against them lately. However, we will be hard pressed to win games if we keep losing soooo many faceoffs.

  6. I look for small victories on the season… I see 2.. UPL has finally showed up… and the other… for the first time in a few years… this team has not had an extended losing streak… Last year, we had at least 2 5+ games losing streaks… This team may not be where we expected… but we've not seen a total 3 weeks bomb either… On top of that Levi's numbers in the AHL are looking good… he needs the reps so I'm glad he's down there.. Next year may just be when we finally blow up the long drought… time will tell.. but we need to put a bunch of our youth to use… can't just stash them in Rochester or other places…

  7. Believe ( I got the sportsnet/Oilers feed) the faceoff win % set a record for the oilers in highest win % in their history. I don't know how Byram didn't get the assist on the Tage goal, but his shot with traffic in front of the net made that goal possible. Cozens has been playing so well, and almost had another SHG. I read a post today that I believe could have been true, in that if UPL didn't have such a great year in goal….Granato and perhaps Adams may be gone. I think he alone saved atleast Granatos job. The next 3 games will be massive, 1 against NYI and 2 against Det.

  8. This week decides the season Wayne. If we go 3-0 this week now with that Detroit loss, we potentially could be just one point out of a playoff spot. Here we go

  9. Tuch has no right to wear a letter on his jersey. He is a big reason why the Sabres are 500. He has cement blocks for hands and his skill is declining every game. Dhalin is the only option to be captain or else run 3 As.

  10. Next 3 games are huge. Wings, Islanders and Wings again. IF they can win them all they could possibly get within about 4 points of the 2nd wild card and then all bets are off. First, the Caps and the Islanders need to start losing at least half their remaining games. Maybe we can help start the Isles on that road by beating them this coming week. If they get to about 4 points out of the last playoff spot, all games after that will be pressure packed for all the teams fighting for that last spot…and maybe a few of then will wilt under the pressure? Just so it's not the Sabres…

  11. That was a really gutsy effort for Buffalo. After giving up an early (and bit soft) goal and a shorty they could easily have folded. UPL recovered well from the early setback and Buffalo dug in against an Oiler team that fancies it's cup chances. (Remember how bad they started the season?) Enjoyable win that just about keeps them alive. It was kind of like Oilers vs oiler lite here and wouldn't Edmonton love a guy like UPL going in to the playoffs? 😋

  12. I was there and was about to walk out when I noticed the ref get on the headset and when I saw that I knew nothing good was going to happen. Tons of people left and came back to their seats, I’m thinking at least 1000 didn’t come back. It also didn’t feel like they were outhitting them that much, I was paying more attention to how bad they were at faceoffs.

  13. I know it's only been two games, and I don't want to give Adams too much credit, but this Byram deal already, is looking like a steal.

  14. Congrats to Bryson ,next year we will break the ice im not worried now that #1 ,is our #1 1 good pick up in the off season (no Halls) can we have Rhino back

  15. Peterka played 6 minutes, next summer he will ask for a trade, he’s wondering why Ollofsson played twice as much, a guy they couldn’t give away for free. Quinn who’s played 14:15 in his Sabres career will ask for a trade, he will wonder why Benson, Greenway and 4th liners are playing more. Everyone is all excited they won 2 out of the last 5 games, I’m wondering how they think they will win games scoring 1 or 2 goals and having leading goal scorers on the bench, Tage usually plays less minutes than Greenway, no team has ever won a cup with just grinders.

  16. you are absolutely correct Wayne it is not over until the math doesn't add up!!! also didn't the Sabres end mcdavids point streak???

  17. Screw the NHL. Get rid of this offsides challenge. It doesn't move the game along. It ruins the game flow. It's so stupid and technical. Let the refs make the call

  18. I wonder what made the boys hit so much. I hope they keep playing physical. When you're physical and on top of pucks, you win. Fancy plays don't win games

  19. I honestly thought so too. I thought tied this game back up and win in a shootout. And when they had to call the Oilers back out that was hardly ever been seen.

  20. So many people left, oilers included, and everyone did a u-turn and re-filled the seats. oh man was the energy high after that though. No way we were losing that shootout

  21. My daughter and i went, she likes to stay and watch the three stars so we got to see the whole thing. The team looked great, it was hard to see mitts get traded but the moves made sense. This offseason we have to cut the cord off past loosing teams and move forward with our young guys.

  22. I might be spit balling here, but I wonder if Don was of the ilk to get the boys to enhance their skill level, first the offence, then the defense prior to adding physicality to their game. I recall how overjoyed when potential goons, Clifton and Greenway were added. But they both disappointed bloodthirsty fans. Oddly Connor was contributing to Sabre hockey in addition to physical play. And Jordan is an asset on offense. They seemed to delay hitting in games, until both enhanced their hockey skills. I recall when Don spoke of acquiring Greenway he spoke of his previous knowledge of him and of his ceiling and untapped potential. Don spoke of no time to work on skills and practice when he took over the team. Commented occasionally of having to learn on the fly to get better. I noticed the past few games the boys have added some new techniques to their play, entering the zone, defending against the powerplay to name a couple. And oh yes including a bit more physical play. Sometimes the boys seem unduly tired. I believe Don and the boys are busting hinny to improve while mixing in enough wins to keep from getting fired or traded. I prefer the "Dynasty Effect" vs a round or two of disappointing playoffs for the rest of my life. I have been a fan since my overseas adventures in the Marine Corps as the rest of my friends got to attend games of our brand new team at the "Aud." Now in my 70's with a brand new heart condition and a meds salad each morning I am expecting to see legit Cup runs. Preferably not sitting in perfect seats right next to RJ. My unfortunate need to be in town to help my Brother close my Mother's beautiful home, yet put me in town to watch the Boys beat the Canes from great seats behind the net with a decades long friend. I hope to see trophies raised by the Bills and the Sabres. Until then, I am enjoying our guys busting azz fighting the odds and learning to get better. Go Bills… Go Sabres…

  23. Wayne said that 90 points could get the 8-spot. The way the last quarter of the season appears to be going, you could have 5 teams bunched up for this madness. No matter what, it’s going to be a hell of a finish.
