  1. Your continued crying about not signing jake is annoying. Status quo is what got them where they currently are. You applauded the Carter extension and the Sully extension.

  2. I think the Pens are losing on purpose . I never saw so many Pens failing and falling down . It's very weird .

  3. Wake up DK. I hate the Guentzel trade as well but the fact is this team has gotten worse year after year for the past 6 seasons. The organization has stood behind this core until the wheels have fallen off. Unfortunately all good things come to an end. Change is always scary but it is necessary.

  4. The core have no one to blame but themselves. Their insistence with staying together, despite years of evidence of their failure to compete for a Stanley Cup, made it impossible to effectively retool the roster. And their reluctance to adapt to the way other teams now play has infected the entire organization, so that no matter who is on their wings, leading the power play, or on the bottom six, those players consistently underachieve as well. Their only hope is that Geno retires after this season, so that, along with Jeff Carter, enough dead weight leaves the roster, but based on how much of a baby he was before being re-signed to his last contract, I doubt Geno has the awareness to understand this reality. As for Sullivan, he has also done his fair share of obstinance regarding players and style of play, but it also seems like his core guys stopped listening to him years ago. It sure seems like a complete rebuild, including the team's identity, is now in order, and that just interchanging some new pieces will only lead to a similar result.

  5. Firing Sulli wont matter, its the team. You can bring in ANY coach you want and you will get the same result, this team cannot compete. The Pens are screwed and a huge rebuild is coming.

  6. Dubas îs going to fire Sullivan… He is going to take the brunt of the player tanking and the mismanagement of the roster.

  7. I don't know why people continue losing their mind over this. It is really simple … the Pens were too old and had too many veteran players to begin with. And right now those same veteran players just don't care because they know the games mean nothing. They have nothing to play for. Teams that are out of the playoffs that do well late in the season do so because they have kids that are still having fun just playing hockey. The Pens just don't have that. So yeah, they are a team full of veterans who don't care, so you are watching a team give an effort like a team that just doesn't care.

  8. Sullivan and this staff need to go and I don't think Jake comes bk he will see canes are ran better

  9. 40+ shots on goal and not a one from I am score. Typical. I believe he was the only forward without one. But you know, let's bring him back next season, so he and Letang can shoot themselves in the foot…sorry, skate, for another season of…how did Dejan put it? Idiocy?

  10. If we’re gonna retool the team and players. Why don’t we do the same with the coaching… sully should have been gone the first time they started struggling…. Oilers did it and became one of the hottest teams. Just saying it’s not rocket science

  11. Wtf… Now we're accusing players that are old of trying to lose. Lol.

It's not the coach. It's not the goalie. It's not the scapegoats like Carter or Karlson. It's just an old team with old legs and no more magic left. Jesus people. Grow up.

  12. Yeah, it's ugly to see. The funny thing is, I've pretty much faith in the qualities of Dubas. But, as far as I can judge it as an outsider, this whole thing is managed so very poorly. He tends to be and excellent communicator. Well, he betted one the core guys and the coach to get and start the job. Where's that commitment now?! I credit him for giving the team a lot of time to figure it out. But it didn't. That's on the team and the staff. I'm totally behind Dubas to give up this season on the moment he did. I would be fine if he sold somewhat the whole team to upgrade the prospect poule right now. But, if doing so, there also has to be a plan to try and be more competitive next season. And the core has to be informed to a certain level. It's fine if they feel the pain of this season. But they should get the feeling that this is the end. For me that's a lack of respect to that group of players, especially Sid. For example, Dubas could be in touch with Jake's manager since last summer, feel out what it takes to re-sign him, make up his mind to what extend that contract is gonna bite his plans in let's say 3 to 6 years from now, and then decide his strategy. In that years you probably don't want Guentzel on the roster anymore, but the money shouldn't also be a big problem (with a lot of youth on the roster by then). So, why not explain Guentzel you need to tank for younger legs, also to have a better chance next year, already print his new contract which he can sign this summer and wish him a good run with the Canes. Inform the core to a certain level, hurt their feelings for this season but built new hope and commitment for the next.

  13. For all the people who constantly are saying the Pens are "too old" and should trade everyone and rebuild; Now the Oilers are the oldest team in the NHL. Suppose it's time to tear it down and rebuild? Their real problem is coaching. They play a horrible system. Their power play is ridiculous. They stand around and don't even look like they are trying to score. They absolutely refuse to try and generate offense from the rush. They are 30th in the league. Despite having guys like Petterson, Letang, and Karlsson, they don't implement a high zone cycle play to involve them in the offense. Almost every other team in the league does that and with lesser skilled players. When they are in the zone, they don't attack the center of the ice. They insist on pulling up to the outside and take low percentage chances. Until they change that, they can't compete in the modern NHL.

  14. My only question at this point is next year. Does Management use the available cap space to try and make this team competitive and push for the playoffs. Or do they leave cap room unused so they can tank for draft picks. If they give up on next season before it even starts than I don't expect Sid will sign an extension. Not jeopardizing the future is one thing, but with Crosby on this team you can't fully tank. You need to try. Otherwise let Sid leave because Management didn't keep their end of the promise to him.

  15. I hope that Mario Lemieux goes behind the bench and they get rid of Sullivan just to see if the Penguins will perform in front of the owner.

  16. Wonderboy Dubas was the worst pick for GM. Starting to feel like FSG did NOT do legit due diligence in GM search. Did I miss the Cup parade he engineered in Toronto? Has FSG eon anything as owner of a sports team ?

  17. Thanks DK. The way their playing has the feeling of who's next. It also feels like someone is out of touch with the team and what they know is needed. I don't agree with the choice that was made, and the team doesn't either. Team spirit and fan Spirit feels broken at least for now. Great show DK.

  18. 11:25 it seems they are still "retooling" for another run next year which is why they didn't flip Rakell, Smith, etc. Plus, don't forget, we don't even have our 1st round pick. So why would they sell off this year and tank?

  19. Bottom 9 in the league now, could easily finish bottom 5 and even though they don't have a 1st round pick this season it will be locked in anyway and they can still win Celebrini.

  20. I found some goods news to help with all this dread. The Milkshake factory is opening a new location in Durham, NC, so maybe Jake Shakes will be a thing again soon. 😉

  21. I think they broke the spirit of team. Sid realized that not 1 but now 2 different management teams have given up on him and the team. Knowing no help is coming I think broke their spirit

  22. Jake is going for top dollar and term. Dubas wants the core to be younger. He is also banking that some or all of the core will raise their hands to waive their NMCs and play some meaningful games before their careers are over. Why would Jake want to be part of this mess?

  23. WHY IS SULLIVAN STILL THE COACH. Why has he not been on the hot seat for 9 months? Use your sources to ask that question, Dejan.

  24. That was just the tip of the iceberg we still have the off season to worry about canes stole gentzel which was pretty much like a Jagr trade it’s a sabotage

  25. I completely disagree with the expression that the players are "pouting". I think its blatantly disregarding their view on the matter. The 2nd best player on the team. By your own account, Sids BEST left winger hes ever had! A guy universally loved in the locker room by everyone and its not like he's some slouch on the ice. Traded. In a time of crisis. For a bucket of pucks. We cannot look at those facts and the subsequent trading away of this asset and not think "Wait i thought we were trying to get the best out of Sids remaining years?" Doesn't look that way anymore. This trade is in direct defiance of whats best for the team. Dubas is adamant the cap will go up in the offseason. Hes a smart guy and knows people. Then how could we not keep Jake??? Its been mentioned the value we have in Jarry for cap space. The fact that Carter will undoubtedly retire after this year. How could he let this guy go? Its not some master dubas plan either. I feel we will be waiting an eternity for what he managed to achieve elsewhere, to happen here in Pittsburgh.
