  1. 2 games and $50k? That’s equal to 10 cross checks (5k each) or an illegal check to the head (2 games)

  2. Always agree with Sanctions on Outrageous Tortarella Stunts – What a Horse’s Ass Embarassment he is!

  3. Doesn’t matter he is not above anyone else player or coach did he have a right to be mad yes but that’s like telling a cop no I’m not going to stop destroying this store or stop speeding if you do you suffer the consequences right no one is above following the rules

  4. Why is nobody showing the penalty 🤣🤣 let’s determine if he was right before we vilify Torts. What a fucking disgrace. Journalism can go to hell.

  5. This is completely fkd up. The league is a joke for this fine. As for the officiating..I officiated hockey at a high level for over 20 years and I am telling you that the officiating has been poor at best. The only thing teams really want is consistency so they can play to the standard. The officials are not giving them that!

  6. I get that you need to leave the bench when ejected but the call was horrendous and it didn’t stop there. At first torts only wanted to talk to the refs but the refs ignored him. Even the players asked the ref to talk to torts. The refs were terrible.

  7. Absolutely Not. Two games? Fifty k? This is bush league. Torts did not deserve this and the league should be ashamed of itself backing those refs. Apparently criticism is no longer allowed here now. Disgusting.

  8. Torterella deserved an explanation on the flubbed calls. I know how fast the game is which makes it tough, but the referees need to be accountable to both teams, the game and also the buying public. This "cone of silence" they operate under only allows for suspicion and then speculation. To many times have we seen the magic make-up calls because of a phantom call, too many times we've seen those ticky tacky calls that kill momentum. Whether the game is is in November or a standings defining game in March doesn't matter, if they screw up they need some form of discipline that the fans are informed about!

  9. People are focusing on the wrong thing here. It doesn't matter if the refs officiated the worst game of their career. Tortorella is the only coach who consistently blows up like this and throws tantrums when he doesn't get his way. You'd think after more than 20 years of coaching he'd finally learn to act like a professional, or at least a mature adult, but he just can't help himself. How has he not learned yet that arguing with the refs will never go in his favour? I know I'm probably the only one, but I can't wait until this idiot retires and goes into anger management so I never have to hear about him again.

  10. No I don’t, it is about time Bettman does something about the officiating or resign, the NHL officiating is becoming the laughing stock of the sports world

  11. The problem is, not just in this game, but in many other NHL games involving Mr. Wes Macauley, that he takes himself more seriously than the game. A busybody who shows off and wants to put on a show. I've been watching this show of importance from him for years, he should take an example from Kiefer Sutherland or Dan O'Rourke, where TOP referees are. You do your work calmly and objectively without much egomania and you're done. Unfortunately, Wes McCauley didn't inherit what his father used to have, a humble demeanor. A pity….

  12. Total bs, look at all the crosschecks to the face after the plays done by makemeluagh players alone and they never get harsh penalties at all.

  13. Torts just wanted to talk to Wes, but Wes was too much of a coward to skate over and talk it out.
