Around the time of the Starter / Pro Player brand jerseys, some of the replica (fan level jerseys) had silver crests. So it looks like he was given one of those for this headshot. That, or maybe a practice jersey.

I think this was their jersey for head shots during that time. I swear I’ve seen other headshots from the same period with the silver crest
