I absolutely love seeing current rangers pre ranger tweets. Cracks me up
gonna guess what game that was off the top of my head and then check to see if I was right.
My guess is Game 4 vs Pittsburgh in the second round. Down 2-1, had just lost Game 3 at MSG, needed a bounce back win and they lost to go down 3-1. I feel like Pens scored multiple in the first and Rangers were lifeless from there. I recall Malkin getting one of the first period goals, idk who had the other.
Ok now let’s go to the videotape…
lol holy shit I was right! but they didn’t score two in the first, just one. But it was indeed Malkin. I didn’t remember Sutter’s SHG or that the Rangers got within one goal in the third and immediately went back down two, and lost 4-2. I remember being so devastated after this game, thinking the playoff run was done. I watched this game in the common room of my dorm freshman year bc I was packing shit up to leave for the summer and my room had too much shit in the way to watch there. We all know how the series went from here 🙂
