    >“I found my game,” said Clifton. “I was grinding to find it. The first 25 games, I was pretty unhappy with my play, got scratched a game – deservingly. I was trying to figure out a way to make my impact and be myself in a new organization and I struggled, for sure. But it was nice, honestly, going back to Boston. There was definitely a level of comfortability.

    >The decision to sign in Buffalo hasn’t led to the opportunity that many expected Clifton to receive. Dahlin was his first defense partner in training camp, but the experiment didn’t extend into the regular season. Clifton was mostly on the third pair next to Erik Johnson, who recently was traded to Philadelphia, and the tandem didn’t work well together.

One underrated aspect of the Sabres’ surge is how well Bryson and Clifton [have worked at limiting quality against](https://imgur.com/3kx9mr7), especially when you consider the change relative to how [E. Johnson and Clifton performed](https://imgur.com/ykokU7I).

And like that next season the defenseman logjam returns… Clifton Bryson have been great at stopping high danger chances, Joker looks like a legitimate partner to Power…. Byram looks great with Dahlin…

Why the fuck do we have to have this problem? Like yeah I prefer this over not knowing how well ever have a good bottom pair, but like does it always have to be logjams? Or do we bring back the 11/7 to have Sammy in and not ditch our current chemistry among our defense?
