Something something Rielly – Brodie and Sammy had a ROUGH one. The bells will haunt our dreams tonight. Frustrating loss.

  2. Leafs hit 6 posts. The way she goes sometimes!

  3. hymensmasher99

Robertson is done in this league.

  4. Samurai1221

Didn’t look great and fly guys very motivated. Not bad but too many mistakes. We need mitch back lol.

  5. DeathEater91

Wasted our time in the end.

Amazing how they can play shit for 50 minutes and then dial in the last 10 minutes just enough to barely lose.

  6. Nameless908

What was that random spazz shot by rielly that gave up possession ? Smh

  7. JustOneInMyLifetime

PP2 cost us the game. Hand grenade pass from Domi and terrible defense from Robertson

  8. sluck131

Before the doomers flood this remember we hit 6 posts and lost by 1.

    Onto the next one

  9. Beneficial_Put8276

Matthews gets the limelight, but Mitch is our best and most valuable player

  10. leafman4000

I guess we learned that Rielly and Brodie should never play together ever again

Also keep Liljegren on pp1. For whatever reason it just works

  11. JoemLat

Didn’t show the replay if that was icing or not. Pretty big if it was.

Tonight’s game was yet another perfect example of why Keefe should have been fired earlier this year. I remember a comment that said, « The best time to fire Keefe was after Montreal, the 2nd best is now. » How many more chances are we going to give this clown? If he isn’t gone following a no doubt disappointing performance in the playoffs again this year, I will be disappointed.

Rielly – Brodie. Called it before the game started. They’d be the biggest problem. Keefe. You have tried this combo enough that even my dog is aware it doesn’t fucking work. Stop. Please. It’s so bad.

1st line. Matthews is the best goal scorer in the league. Why are you putting him with two players that have less combined points than Matthews has goals? We’ve seen Nylander-Matthews be amazing in the past. Marner is out. Why do you panic and just say « fuck it » and throw random shit together? I legitimately can’t think of two players on this team worse suited for each other than Matthews and Bertuzzi. It looks like he pulled names from a hat.

There are other issues, 3rd line was a nightmare, not scratching Brodie or JT when theyve been unplayable for almost the entire season, etc…

Seriously. Aren’t we tired of being outcoached?

Can’t even be mad at that one. Even a smidge of puck luck would have made a difference.

  14. TheDeadReagans

Team could have played a lot better to start the game but I appreciate that they kept fighting in the third despite being down 3-0.

My stance on this team though remains the same – it’s a mid tier team.

Normally I don’t particularly like to rag on a certain player, but god Brodie has been awful. That Reilly-Brodie pair should never see the ice again.

  16. NocturnalWiji

Tough to win a game when your goalie allows 4 goals on < 30 shots (and < 2 xGA).

Stinker of a game for Sammy (even though everyone’s scapegoating an admittedly poor Rielly – Brodie pairing).

  17. ComputerSaysnooooo

    Mitchell “Engine” Marner

  18. JonJonFTW

At least this game was interesting in the 3rd. Can’t wait for Marner to be back.

  19. revillio102

Still not convinced that the second philly goal wasn’t GI but can’t do much about it now. Into the next one and hopefully we get better puck luck

  20. zainery

Crazy how Matthews gets so much credit for being an amazing 2 way player when Marner is leagues better defensively. Not to take anything away from Matty but its so clear.

  21. RattledRed

    I can hear Keefe now…

« We had 6 posts, if one of those go in its a different game »

« The powerplay had a ton of chances, if it goes in we are tied up »

« The other team played hard, got some bounces, if we play that game again then it might be in our favor next time »

Same quotes as the past 4 game 7’s.

    LOL

  22. dwnumber1

Auston needs to be better, we can’t win games without marner if he isn’t scoring he needs to create shots for himself not just wait for a slick pass to find him in the slot.

  23. ArthasCousland

Brodie-Rielly should never be a pairing ever again. Sit Brodie or Edmunson, I don’t care who, but Benoit should not sit.

Also, I hate how absolutely invisible Matthews is without Marner as his wingman. He’s going to be the highest paid player in the league next year and we’re graced with this.

  24. GreatSetting34

Why is Samsonov playing every game now? 4 goals last game. 4 goals tonight. Keefe is a real liability with his coaching. This team is not prepared.

He got bullied by the backup Philly coach to end the game last week and then Philly comes out and curb stomps them tonight. The effort reflects the coach. The time for a change is now.

  25. Gavin1453

I usually wait until next-day PGT after losses so I can cool off. But seriously, Rielly and Brodie should have large magnets attached to them, so they can never be paired together again. The 3rd period really did make this loss easier to swallow though, lol

  26. __Dave_

It’s a shame Johnson didn’t call out the blatant cross check that took Matthews out of play and let Philly clear it with 10 seconds left. He’s usually on that sort of thing.

Is it likely that they tie it up with one 6v4 face off? No. But it’s certainly better odds than a rush the other way. Guess the refs were just ready for that post game beer.

  27. JohnYCanuckEsq

That Nylander post was almost goal of the year. Good God.

  28. ColeBelthazorTurner

Marner makes players he’s playing with better. Not sure if Matthews does that.

  29. Dangerous_Cream5837

I love Sammy but we have a goalie problem going into the playoffs. Idk if Woll is healthy yet and Samsonov just can’t be trusted

  30. ElephantShell34

You, a fool, an imbecile: “The Leafs are 12-4-1 in their last 17 games 🙂 🙂 🙂

Me, a genius, an intellectual: “The Leafs are 3-3-1 in their last 7 games 🙁 🙁 🙁

  31. DrinkMoreBrews

Man, I hate hearing about how they hit 6 posts. Who cares. Point of the game is to score more goals than the other team. They didn’t, plain and simple.

  32. irkybirky

Tavares is warming up for playoffs is a good sign. Marner will be back and so will Woll. It will all unfold as it should. GLG

  33. Drew_You_To_91

Man I know the leafs put up six posts but the goals allowed just plain stunk. Need two points tomorrow.

  34. LeafsFan8406

This fan base calling Matthews lazy hahaha no wonder we get made fun of league wide..holy fuck some of you are miserable

  35. LostBeneathMySkin

Marner is the heartbeat of the Leafs. I’m not overreacting to the loss tonight, or the loss last game. But there’s a very noticeable hole when 16’s not in the lineup.
