Tough ending and loser point is wtvr but great game overall against one of the best teams in the league. Suzuki/Slaf points, Guhle with a great goal and even better defensive game in his hometown. Almost a perfect tank loss!
Really wish we hadn’t got that extra point but overall we played well, but the 4 minute pen was a death sentence
Okay if we played like that the whole season there’s NO WAY we’d be 25-31-12
refs being complete idiots once again. habs getting a useless point. nice.
Bruhhhhhh
Brutal high stick call.
Deserved the win but I guess this is a half-win for team tank.
Gg Montembault. That penalty was absolute BS, interference by Kane which moved his stick..
Dumbest fucking penalty ive seen bruh
0 refs signaled a penalty or stopped play until Henrique acted like he got sniped by the in-house sniper. Bs ending to a fun game
The refs and nhl won this game
Samuel montembault you are a Montreal Canadiens
Making contenders look like idiots is the best you can hope for this season.
Your daily reminder that you don’t know that we will get a better player picking 5th than picking 7th. So don’t get upset about the point. Be happy they played as hard as they did, that’s what really matter for the future of this team.
That penalty call was utter bullshit I can’t believe they didn’t give 2 minutes to Kane for interference at the very least. Whatever one more loss for the tank and great game from Armia
Wanted it for Monty. But good game regardless. Competing with the best teams while staying low in the standings, formula for a great rebuild…

Those were some nice saves though Monty!
How can they review a call they never made in the first place, that was some next level BS.
Good game for the tank. Almost pulled off a miracle on the OT PK.
I was having fun… until the double minor. Way to sour a good game
Back to back ot games against the oilers. Not bad. They should’ve call interference on Kane for that play but it’s better to give 6 minutes of pp straight to the oilers. Weirdly, the two ot goals were both on the pp for them🧐🧐
Also, Suzuki is 3 goals away from a 30 goal season 😍
# !REFS
Game was 100% decided by the referee. Came all the way back but can’t have the home team McDavid team get embarrassed.
Since when could refs review high sticks that they didn’t see? This is the second time this has happened. I thought they couldn’t call what they didn’t see?
What a game by Armia. Hope he holds his head high
Man these high sticking rules make no sense and they break the game. First of all, 4 minutes is just stupid. Whether the guys bleeds or not should not change anything if the play is the same. If your stick happens to hit the cheek, there’s probably no blood, but if it hits the bridge of the nose for example, it’s gonna bleed for sure. So in the end it’s just a flip of a coin. Also, if you hit a guy in the face when taking a shot, it’s cool, but if you get hit without having the puck and your stick flies in some guy’s face, it’s a penalty. Why? I fail to see any logic here. Finally, WHY THE FUCK ARE HIGH STICKING CALLS REVIEWABLE? Why not tripping, hooking, holding, embellishment…
Not trying to be salty at all here but in all honesty, can they review that high stick call if there is no call on the ice? Is that allowed? Legitimately curious.
What a game. Made us proud with that gutsy third period and hell of an effort on the penalty kills.
That 4 minute penalty call was very questionable – need someone to weigh in: if a player’s stick is sent upward by a player on the opposing team and the stick hits a player high on that opposing team, should it be called high sticking? The only reason Armia’s stick went up was because of the way Kane came through and sent his arm and stick upward and caught Henrique in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think it was incidental contact caused by Edmonton therefore there should have been no call. Also – it amazes me how often the Habs have penalties reviewed against them – I’ve literally never seen this happen against any other team.
Debrusk.. “Edmonton found a way..” yeah on a silver platter on their lap..
EDM: « Shit we are losing it! What can we do?! »
« Refs, give us powerplay for the rest of the game! »
Refs: « You bet, we gotchu! 🔥 »
It’s nice that we can take the Oilers to OT twice in a year like this, but God damn if it isn’t frustrating that both games ended with the Oilers selling for a penalty at the right time.
I’m becoming more and more confident about our team for next year !! We’re not that far away from being very competitive. We’re on the right path !!! Go habs gooooooooo !!!!!
*BAD*
– 4 on 3 with that rather suspect call on the high stick idk that’s giving them the game. Especially against the power play of Edmonton.
– Habs were probably better overall and this can be interpreted as both good or bad because the good is they work hard. Very hard. The fact remains they are outmatched 90% of the time in the talent department. Get some more dudes in here with skill and I think wins happen as soon as next year.
– Couple of “soft” plays on two of the Edmonton goals. One by Anderson and then Savard for the second.
*GOOD*
– Nick Suzuki career high in goals and it’s beautiful. Tremendous year.
– Guhle got on the board and overall played a very good game goal aside. He’s struggled a bit lately but still overall I believe he is top2 potential.
– Evans is a player that I’ve done a 180 on. At first, I kinda thought well every team has a guy like this he is decent but if they moved on I wouldn’t care. I mean he is a depth player so they come and go but I think he fits here longer. Really solid depth Center and does so many little plays well. This was another stellar night.
– Monty was better and played swell tonight. Lots of good saves.
– The overall structure is there. This team plays a ton of good teams close.
– Armia. All over the place in a good way. Personally not holding his late penalty against him that was just bad luck.
I truly think that with Dach healthy, get rid of 1 more contract and signing/trading for one 60-70 point player we could compete next year. Unfortunately we won’t do that but I think if they did, it could happen
The Habs got royally screwed on a bull crap High sticking call to Armia. If you’re going to tell me that he has to have control of his stick, that’s fine but they should have given Kane an interference penalty because it was his pick on Arnia that led to the high stick in the first place. Yeah, the world’s best officials screwed the Habs. Montreal deserved a lot better than they got.
