I genuinely can’t tell if the Canucks turtle or the opponents always just raise their intensity in the third period every game. But if they’re turtling, just why? Sure, if you’re tired on a long road trip and have Demko covering your behind, but why turtle when you can extend the lead or at least keep it in the opponent’s zone?

  2. gonuxgo

imagine telling someone last year the canucks were 43-18-8 after 69 games and a third of the sub was still bitching about them

  3. shadownet97

It’s nice to play and win meaningful games in mid March for once.

    Ahhhhhhh

  4. Twatts71

This team just ended the Sabres season. Poor Buffalo

  5. PaddyStacker

Sucks that DeSmith gets a pretty shitty stat line from this game. He played very well.

  6. Great game. Also I’ve realized i got a big crush on the arena host lady

  7. SloJuicer

Canucks won, Vegas lose, and the Wild moved closer to take over their wildcard spot. It’s a good night of hockey

  8. wallnutxjames

Miller, You super soldier. Another game, another strong Ilya milk-man performance, not rewarded, but strong. I liked lindholms game, minus the shit give away

  9. icantthinkofaname940

J.T. Miller has 13 more games to hit 100 points

    He’s currently at 89.

  10. Fantasy_Puck

really wanted the Teddy empty netter

  11. MeMe_Maniac

I turned it off after the empty net and we let another in 🫣

A win’s a win. Not bad, not great.

Quinn is an absolute superstar, our third frames are still shaky, and petey was productive but does he got that dawg in him?? We know he’s got the peanut butter but does he have that jam??

    Time will tell, good win

  13. alviator

u/passittobulis patting himself on the back with his hard hitting questions and motivating star players.

Buffalo will always perplex me. They have a lot of great young players, and decent vet presence. But they can never seem to make it work. They’re a fun team to follow from a far, but man I feel bad for their fans. Also have loved Byram since his Giants days, hope he succeeds with the team

  15. FluidG11

How we feeling about Garly with Petey?? The man looked unreal

  16. Redliner91

I’m starting to lean towards not giving Hronek more than 6 – 6.5mil on a new contract. Sure he started off the season really strong but he makes way too many boneheaded plays and seems to give the puck away a lot.

Plus we have barely seen him without Hughes. Did Tanev sign a long term deal with the Stars? If not.. maybe the smart choice would be to sign Tanev on a cap friendly deal to play with Hughes and see what we can get for Hronek on the market.

  17. Garland and Pettersson were the best players tonight. I thought the line looked pretty good and Garland played a role in EPs goal on the PP.

Hronek did not look good tonight. Myers actually seemed like the most consistent after Hughes.

Anyway glad we got the win!

Maybe Dak – Petey – Garland is worth a look when he is back? Mik/suter – Miller – Boeser and Hog – Lindholm – Mik/Suter might look good. Maybe Mik with Miller and Lafferty with Hog + Lindholm (career year and played well with hog earlier. Pdg/Podz – Blueger/Suter – Suter/Aman could be cool as a fourth line.

We played the full 60 minutes, quite a step in the right direction. I enjoyed how everybody tried too. Powerplay was getting dangerous chances (then a goal), Pettersson played a great night and Garland complimented his line by good plays.

You do have to admit their goalie (Levi) had a very good night. Probably sucks to haul ass for your team and still lose. Not complaining about a win though. Very good structured, defensive and offensive, hockey from the Canucks this game.

Hopefully we can keep our heads up now, and beat the Habs next with another structured performance.

  20. Nuck_1198

Can we all just applaud Daniel Wagner for essentially calling out Petey?

  21. electricnux

The last 10 minutes are becoming so stressful to watch lately, it was more fun in the first part of the season with our unbeatable record lmao

  22. bwoah07_gp2

Buffalo were not pushovers in this game, they gave a good effort.

  23. ajbolt7

Pretty decent night with Minnesota winning and Vegas losing. Only pain points are Edmonton winning and especially Winnipeg winning. I don’t care about the President’s Trophy but IF Vegas misses the playoffs I would much rather be playing Minnesota or St Louis in the first round than Nashville.

  24. Fruzenius

Great game! Easily could have been 5 or 6 goals if Levi didn’t play as good as he did

  25. helixflush

The refs can actually get fucked. The ref by the penalty box somehow blocked three clearing attempts, waived off the most blatant icing, refused to call anything our way in the third despite the obvious penalties, then finally gave us one with fucking 4 seconds left? Unreal.

  26. AppealToReason16

I feel like Zadorov is the player that people have told me Myers is for 5 years.

So, do you give him the Myers contract for this summer? Or something in that general range

  27. Ruler535

Great interview by DeSmith – can see why he is a favourite in the locker room

  28. IAmWench

That was a game to be at. DeSmith with the DeSaves

  29. AccomplishedAd4995

we are now 1-0-0 with Aman back in the lineup

  30. mikachabot

quinn hughes hitting guys makes me feel some type of way

  31. TheDutchin

    Was at the game, wooo!!!

    > The building exploded when Hughes nailed that guy, they showed him grinning on the bench in arena, love it

Probably the highlight of the night

Thanks Knivey for the invite! Gonna be a yearly thing I think 😉

  32. RepulsiveHumanShell

The only negatives really about the game was the third power play in the third period, I thought it started to look a bit like a passive walk in the park deal again.

  33. 21marvel1

A “that’s a good hockey team over there” quote from Tocchet

  34. tbrarwil

Is WPG taking west#1 that bad? They’d play either Vegas or Minnesota.

Us playing Nashville would honestly be a better match up. Don’t care about the beat the best to win bs. Just have the best match up possible for longevity.

  35. hangoverpho

Quinn gonna dress up as Kool-Aid man for this year’s Halloween

  36. Wait.. I thought the season was over and that we were finished after last game?

    What happened doomers?

  37. Klunkey

I kind of wish Hughes hits more often because when he does, he’s awesome at it; someone compared his hit to Scott Stevens and I really hope Huggy shows more shades of him (minus the career-ending concussions he gave).

  38. johal61

Mikheyev playing with confidence now. Love to see it.

  39. Overclocked11

Key win this one. Hope that it turns the ship and gets us moving toward consistency and better effort overall in the leadup to the playoffs.

DeSmith didn’t see a ton of action tonight, but he was sharp when he did. Really great job defensively to keep Buffalo to only 17 shots.

We took way too many penalties. Were this a a better team with a better PP, we’d have been sunk by it. PK came up clutch though, but we need to be tidier.

Great to see such strong games from Petey, Mik, and Lindholm. Garland is just implied that he had a strong game at this point, the guy is unreal. Quinn also really played with purpose and that hit was one I won’t soon forget.

On to the next one – hope Vegas continues its slide
