Pain. Boys looked tired out there and just played like shit except for a few glimmers of hope in the 3rd. Doesn’t help that refs were dog shit but at least Levi looked alright and Dahlin came to play

  2. BumRum09

Well it’s Groundhog Day again folks!

  3. SergeantBleuCheese

Why does he keep trying the wrap around thing?

  4. Straight_Landscape37

That could’ve been a lot lot worse

  5. baseball772499

Why are we not allowed to experience happiness in this city.

  6. jdokule

If I learned one thing from this game it’s that Pettersson has a comically large helmet

  7. BuffaloThrilla

Not enough all around hockey players on this team. We have too many guys that can only do one thing. Some dont even do their one thing that well.

Why would any family in Western New York spend the same money it costs to buy a PS5 to watch Zemgus Giergensons take first line minutes with Tuch and Thompson for the entire month of March so far?

Playoff push? Let’s put a guy who has 186 career points in 700 career games on the first line.

Good god we are all hopeless here. Animals.

STOP GIVING THEM MONEY AND YOUR EYES.

    I’ll start. Goodbye.

Man it sucks we’re so terrible, cause it’s obvious to me Dahlin is better than Hughes. But Hughes will win Norris trophies and Dahlin won’t, because we fucking suck.

This game would probably be a lot more fun if the Sabres didn’t have to play last night with travel and their 5th game in 7 days, against a team on 3 days of rest after their previous 2 games and playing their 4th game in 11 days.

Sabres survived long enough to have a chance to tie it up. About as well as I hoped it would go.

at least Sabres gave Canucks fans almost a heart attack lol

Very bad game with a nice effort at the end. Levi was awesome. Vancouver played an excellent game though, I’m gonna give them a lot of credit. Just a completely stifling and frustrating effort from them.

  13. There’s a lot of negatives today, so I’m gonna try to make this positive.

-We hung in there against one of the NHL’s top teams this year (not a victory, but not horrible)

-Rasmus Dahlin played like a beast

-Girgensons has been excellent forechecking on this line with Thompson and Tuch

-Between UPL, Levi, and Dahlin, we have 3 legitimate goaltenders for the future

the biggest thing I noticed that game is they looked completely asleep at the wheel for the entire game. We get a late goal and all of the sudden they are playing hard. We need a coach that can get that out of our players for 3 periods a night. they clearly have it in them but just aren’t held to a high enough standard.

you hear tuch talking about being upset about the booing, you hear our former captain okposo getting upset with the fans, you hear things like, oh we’re a young team, oh we have a bright future, oh we have a deep prospect pool. They say they work hard every night, and they don’t deserve so much criticism. Well maybe the team should all sit down and watch the first 55 minutes of that game together.

i know the nucks defense is really good, but you couldnt put up more than 15 shots the whole game, even with 8 minutes of power play?

  16. ThePeteVenkman

Despite all the shit that was that game, there’s zero question that Dahls should have the C.

  17. Kanine_tv

Dahlin and Levi are awesome, everyone else pretty much sucked and Greenway is a goof. Whatever, let’s just go and beat McDavid again.

  18. Mysterious_Secret827

THIS team can NEVER play back to back! Not sure why, know that they can’t! ANOTHER pointless game.

  19. jimmy_beans

I’m really sick of seeing this team play that exact game. The trash passing was back. No effort until it’s out of reach. That game (and many others like it) is a microcosm of our season. We’re not missing the playoffs because of how we’re playing now, we didn’t show up for the first 2/3 of the season. We’re not winning games because we don’t show up for 2 out of 3 periods. Why did we break up Dahlin and Byram? WTF Granato.

  20. That_One_Shy_Guy

So many doomers in this thread. It’s almost like the Sabres were playing a well rested good team on the second night of a back to back.

Greenway proving to Vancouver that they were correct to pass on Adams’ high asking price

Last year it was, “if only we had league average goaltending,” which I can forgive to an extent because it’s fucking hard to find goalies.

This year it’s, “if only we had league average Power Play,” which I can’t forgive. We have more than enough talent, but terrible usage and an even worse system. We pass up chances because we are clearly coached to only set up Tage.

If Granato won’t fire Ellis, then Granato needs to be fired.

  23. adolce95

Also this might just be because it’s really late with a little recency bias, but I’m pretty much off of Krebs being used in an elevated role. I love his fight and tenacity but he’s been playing with good players since Casey was traded and boy has he not shown much. He’s kind of shown that he is a prime target to replace this off-season.

I’m also starting to get worried about JJ. He’s still very young and you can see the crazy amount of skill but he’s a very easy guy to figure out and counter it seems.

  24. Time-Dot5984

GGs Expansion Bros, you guys played a hell of a game, especially Devon Levi, he was a wall in net

  25. BuffaloThrilla

Peyton Krebs is literally young Zemgus Girgensons. We don’t need one and we damn sure don’t need two.

  26. Pretty_Good_At_IRL

Can we talk about Greenway’s inexplicable pass to no one back toward his own end on the PK that led to an odd man rush and shortly thereafter the 2nd goal.

One of the dumbest decisions I have seen in a while.

  27. JoeSchmohawk93

Coaching is still terrible and I hope it gets addressed over the summer. Team looks better overall, but this is the second year in row that they dug a hole that was too deep to climb out of.

Side note but if the rest of the team took their job as seriously as Dahlin, we’d be in playoffs easy. IMO it’s partially Donny not being able to push the right buttons, and then of course Ellis being employed through this whole season is bonkers.

  28. CommaToTheTop

I thought we were good tbh. Vancouver is clearly super tough

  29. GuybrushThreepwood94

Pretty much how I expected it to go given the circumstances with the schedule. Disappointing either way, but it is what it is.

  30. Cool_Raspberry443

Only one who seemed to know there was a game was Dahlin, could have left the rest at the hotel.

  31. aaaaaliyah

Had no right in that game. Dahlin and Levi held it for us. Tage was also good.

  32. aaaaaliyah

Gotta say in particular Peterka looked the worst tonight. Weirdly I like Girgs on the top line
