  1. Embarrassing from a veteran club they should be ashamed of themselves specially at home… These boys are too comfortable, been together too long its time to start buying guys out or Roy will be fired..

  2. This was a game I was going to go to cheap tickets before the game lost my faith, well said Gil different game same result, the reality is the islanders are done Lamarillo is garbage and it’s obvious Management could care less, important question please help and let me know, ESPN+ Hulu, my ESPN stream is choppy hard to watch because streaming is choppy is it just me or that’s for everyone ? Thank you Gil spot on !

  3. This is a losing team at 29-39. They play like a losing team. No speed, no energy, they just mail it in every day. Time to tear it down and get rid of senile Lou. If ownership won’t do this, perhaps they should sell the team to someone who cares. (Wishful thinking I know). Ripe for a loss against the red wings. If they do they completely wipe out the six in a row they won. Pathetic.

  4. Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? What's happened to The Islanders 5 in a row? They played well early, but then they 🍘, and they never recovered. Once again, The Carolina Hurricanes were the better team 5-1 in every way. This is one reason The Islanders are losing attendance. They're wearing their white jerseys at 🏡, something they haven't done in nearly 30 years. My condolences on the death of Chris Simon. Hero, Kyle Palmieri for keeping them fron being shutout. 🐐, even though you picked Noah Dobson, I THINK IT'S A COMMUNITY EFFORT, AGAIN. I know what Chris Simon did on one occasion that was unforgivable, but he learned his lessons when he served his suspension. RIP, CHRIS SIMON. Now, back to business, The Islanders are in The Motor City tomorrow, and those Red Wings are gonna have revenge on their 🧠, especially since the playoffs are involved. If, The Islanders are smart, and that's a big if, THEY NEED TO BE ON THEIR GAME. HAPPY 🎂 NICK LEDDY. Hear from you, tomorrow, Gil. I'm going to watch the game on Saturday, May 24th, 1980. LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

  5. Gm Gil. The box scores are hard enough to look at so watching is something I don't do. With this team out of the playoff race, why aren't moves being made with regards to next season? I know the answer which is the utter delusional behavior of ownership and the GM. Until UBS is mostly empty, there is no reason for change. This team barely has talent to make most top team's 2nd line. The Isles are now bottom tier team.

  6. Last two games against quality teams we really look like an ahl team. I think had Roy not publically shamed sorokin he’d have been pulled last night cause although it’s sacrilege to say he hasn’t been good this year. Below average at best but doesn’t even matter score one goal in five games not winning anyway

  7. Hey Gil – First off I was there last night and it was the most quiet I've heard in that building or at any Isles game for that matter. I think there have been alot of times the Fans have been rowdy and inspired the team to play better but the team are getting paid millions of dollars a year to give Us something to cheer about it's not the other way around. Second thing is I think they wore white as a sign of surrender because they looked like they quit last night and nothing was ever said regarding the jersey change online. Next thing is no accountability I mean Roy sat Engvall like he's the only issue when in fact there were plenty of guys who deserved to watch in a suit just look at Philly they scratched their newly named Captain and beat Toronto last night so maybe a bigger message MUST be sent by ROY. Last thing is they surged right before the trade deadline all to give us the fans and management hope that we were making a push and not to disrupt the chemistry and then BOOM deadline passes and all their teammates stayed and right back into bad play and losing games. I think something big has got to happen and clearly call up's are not happening because the team fooled the GM and Owner and the fans got fooled the Most.

  8. Our time to win with this group was the tampa series we lost, this group needs to be broken up otherwise we will be the sharks in a few years, we have 13,14,30,3,6,8 and 28 to build a solid team around, everyone else is replaceable and it’s time the older guys go and we build a younger and faster team, we don’t need a full rebuild but have to revamp, 29 and 21 are the only older players worth keeping next season unless we get a great offer for them in a trade but everyone else needs to go trade em clear cap space and sign some younger free agents and actually use our first round pick to draft a solid prospect.

  9. Hey Gil… This team is going nowhere we all know that. It's been said so many times it may not be worth repeating, but Lou definitely has to go. This team needs to get rid of at least eight or nine players that I can count. Wally, Martin, Clutter, Aho, Mayfield, Engvall, Lee, Holmstrom, and maybe JG. I know about all of the extended contracts and no trade courses but ownership has to find a way. We need a couple of true goal-scoring snipers, and the couple of true defenseman.

  10. I have , at times, been guilty of relying on small glimpses of hope this season. But I have gotten to think about more. What am I actually hoping for? That we get into the playoffs? Bug freaking deal. Based on the product presented on the ice we are highly likely to go one series and done. What does that do for the team and more importantly the fans? Unless Lou is ejected it is bad for the team because it will allow him to fall into his usual "keep things as they are" mode. I also think its bad for the fans. Just more hope with a serious dashing at the end. Not useful to anyone. When I go back a few years and look at things I see a VERY physical team with lock down defense and a tenacity to perform beyond their collective worth on paper. We no longer hit nearly like we did and our defense is sorely missing the likes of Johnny Boychuk, Greenie, Leddy, Teows (even Mayfield at one time). We have no identity line anymore really. Teams don't fear our offensive capability and now we also provide no fear of a beat down either. It is is frustrating. Probably the single most annoying thing pinging around in my head was put there by you Gil. Did these guys up their game, and subsequently deplete their reserves, just enough for that win streak to avoid guys getting moved at the trade deadline? Look, I have no patience for that kind of thought. I have the capability to be nostalgic about team members like Bails for example. However, I am a hard working Joe who leveraged my life for season tickets (and now only a handful of game tickets). I have little sympathy for guys making a minimum of $750,000 up to millions a year who can't give it their all always. I wonder if the players really understand the true depth of fan feelings when they spill their platitudes about us. Imagine being able to play a game for a living for lots of money and whether you succeed or not has little to no affect on your ever day life or standard of living. I know I am being hard here but it is an insult. I can respect a team that loses every game playing their asses off. If I were routing for railway track layers who get tired I am OK with the "their only human" not pro sports figures who sign up for the good with the bad that comes with the money they make. As Russell Crowe said "Are you not entertained!!", I say emphatically NO! Rant complete.

  11. Goalies need to change to fifty fifty useage. , not Sorokin playing 80 % . Despite what any stats might say , he is a big problem .

  12. The sad reality of it is,the islanders as a franchise is done! Old team with untradeable players and no prospects. The type of players they need do not want to come here. We need new management from top down, including bridgeport and speaking of Bridgeport, they should move to the c island!!!

  13. HOW WAS TORREY ABLE TO ASSEMBLE THE 1980S TEAM THAT WON 4 CUPS IN A ROW? DID HE DO HIS OWN SCOUTING OR DID HE HAVE SCOUTS WORKING FOR HIM?

  14. THE ONLY THING THIS TEAM ILLUSTRATED IS THAT LOU NEEDS TO BE FIRED AND EVERY PLAYER ON THIS TEAM NEEDS TO BE TRADED AND THE TEAM REBUILT AND IF LEDECKY REFUSES TO REBUILD THEN HE SHOULD SELL THE TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. WAS LOU FIRED FROM TORONTO AND NJ BECAUSE HE BROUGHT IN OLDER UNDERPERFORMING PLAYERS ALSO AND SIGNED THEM TO BAD CONTRACTS?

  16. The players are not “hungry” enough to win. Patrick Roy has done all he can as a new coach who stepped in on January 20th. The team needs an overhaul and the GM failed to make any trades over the years and this year before March 8 th. The GM needs to be spoken to by the owners

  17. The team is last (32nd) on PK & 16th on PP. GF 22nd & GA 11th which means we have the 11th highest goals against-not good. This is not a playoff caliber team…Let's not forget the -23 goal differential. To win 6 straight then lose 5 straight, with the playoffs on the line, is also disturbing. To me, it says this team has no character and needs to be blown up. Roy has really tried, but I think everyone knows the real problems. Our GM could have helped at the deadline too, but his motto "I believe in this team" seems to override any logic. I've given up all hope. There's no way they'll make the playoffs and even if they do, they will get knocked out by either Boston, the Rangers, or Carolina. Definitely Carolina as we can't seem to beat this team anymore. It's a shame because I really thought they'd turn it around but then they were shut out by an average goalie in LA…
