Great win! Offense was clicking again. Copp/Fischer/Rasmussen line is amazing. Debrincat was flying. D looked solid. And obviously Larkin was great. Edvinsson looked great but still making a few too many turnovers in our own zone which I expect will get better as he plays more. Reimer made some huge saves, but continues to let in some very bad goals and look shaky on some should be routine saves. Really tough schedule coming up, let’s see what the boys can do. LGRW!

Though we won, can we have a honest conversation about debrincat and Kane just not fitting on a line together? Nightmare defensively, and as talented as they are, they trust each other too much- lasering passes too each other bouncing off their stick, granted it’s close sometimes but it’s a lot of turnovers and lost puck battles

Debrincat was flying out there. He didn't score a goal, but was a leading energy player last night.
Edvinson looked like a big pylon out there in the d zone last year, he's starting to figure out leverage and timing now, once he gets that down and adds a little more beef he will be major part of this teams success. His ability to move up the ice with the puck is impressive for a man of his size.

Last nights team is the one we love to root for and talk highly of! And where did that defense come from?!?! Reimer did decent. That first lazy goal should of NEVER went in but team didnt let it affect them. 3 whole points tonight. No O.T., Captain Back and Scoring and rest of team contributing on all fronts. I tell everyone who will listen that Kane and DeBrincat are awesome but 71 is the one that drives that team. He is the spark plug the offense runs through and is solid at both ends of the ice.
When Larkin is in the lineup the Wings are 38-8-6. There are some even it Detroit who have said he wouldn’t even be a 2nd line center on other teams. Unreal
When sprong comes back they will be a much faster team than usual with even more scoring potential, his presence is missed from that perspective. Plus he shoots from everywhere so it will put significantly more pressure on the opposing teams d.
As a long time Blackhawks fan watching 88 playing and having fun is really a good thing ! It has also has given me a chance to see a lot of 71 , I can tell you this he is Toews (19) all over again . I’m so impressed with him and his leadership ,Detroit is lucky to have him and I hope 88 is there when the Red Wings win a cup ! Enjoy 71 you have no idea how fast the time goes !

The defense is going to turn into a strength for this team next season with Seider, Edvinson, Chariot and some of the young defensemen not currently on the roster. Maatta quietly plays a solid defense as well.
Reimer is the Todd Jones of goaltending in Detroit. Gives you a heart attack, walks the bases loaded and somehow still gets a save.
Think Ed would've gotten called up sooner during the streak if he didn't get hurt in GR.
I know we’re playing preds next, but we should keep Larkin to 15-16 min or so.. we’re gonna need him through this crazy run of games we have coming up
With the recent wins and the teams chasing them faltering, they should make the playoffs unless they totally collapse. Washingtin looked to be the greatest threat, but it looks like they will lose Tom Wilson, a key guy for at least five games, which hurts their chances
Whatever they're paying Larkin, it's not enough. It's a tale of two teams, the team with Larkin and without, and it's a night and day difference.
What's about Berggren?
Such a great game. What made it different was the obvious team effort, but the Wings were a lot more physical, everyone was hitting. The defense, while not great, was very improved. Then maybe the most important thing to me was transportation of the puck out of the defensive zone and through the neutral zone, and this is where Larkin being back and the addition of Edvisson , I think, are paying dividends. Add in that Raymond refuses to give up, and Fischer is the Dennis Rodman of the Wings. He is literally everywhere doing everything and is the hustle that seems like is becoming infectious. The Wings will need success on this road trip to not only keep their place in the standings, but to keep down those dogs on their heels.

since the game at Calgary, the biggest determiner of wins or losses, even bigger than Larkin being in the lineup or not, is Kane.
in the last 8 games where Kane scores a goal, the Wings are 7-1. in the last 8 games where Kane doesn't score a goal, the Wings are 1-7. the splits with and without Larkin are 6-2 in the last 8 with him and 2-6 the last 8 without him.

Something changed starting w that 5-0 win at Calgary (after the two losses to start the road trip). Prior to that, Kane's performances had really not had much to do w game outcome at all, or would even often be opposite – he would produce and look great but the team would stink and lose. (Or he could go quiet and the team would win, such as early January). He stepped up and started taking some ownership, and the team now relies on him and his production and the celebrations etc emotionally. This is why Lalonde keeping him stuck w JT on that low production line is so mistaken imo. I hope I'm wrong but I fear the bad top 6 combos will catch up to them on this tough road trip.
