  1. This game is exhibit A as to why goaltending matters so much in this league. The Flyers pretty much dominated the Panthers throughout the majority of the game. But one team's goalie stood on his head to make outstanding save after outstanding save. The other team's goalie let two easy stops squeak right through him.

  2. Not so fun fact: Sandstrom/Petersen have allowed a combined 4 goals per game with a combined 84.6 Save Percentage on the season. So if you wanted even more reasons to hate Carter Hart other than the obvious, there you go.

  3. Stolarz better than both Flyers goalies. Flyers just not a real NHL team. Hard work no talent can only get you so far. Their lucky they have Torts!

  4. I feel his frustration. This was to me one of their best games of the season. and unfortunitely no points. Get ready for next game.

  5. The gona get knocked out of playoffs. We need snipers ,goal scorers, throw the checkbook at Sanheim,50 goal scorer for panthers.,Come on Danny time to go to work.

  6. Well Flyers will learn. Tough loss back to work. At some point you will get tired Flyers players will get yired of giving away games.

  7. People, they've pretty much made it through this gauntlet of tough games against playoff and potential Stanley Cup winning teams with some decent performances. After this next game against the Rangers, they play against a stretch of teams that won't be making the playoffs. Those are must win games. Defeating the Blackhawks, Canadians, and Blue Jackets is a must if they're going to hold onto this playoff spot.

  8. Love Torts! He tries so hard to perform for these journalists only because his jobs demands it. You know he'd rather be getting a root canal than this.

  9. Its a good thing I'm not there as one of the press . He wouldn't walk off the stage on me.

"Hey John whats going on with Gurianov. He was brought in to help the pp. So whats the deal?"
"Why would you play a goaltender with a 4-18 record with you as coach in a playoff race?"

I could go on. But it would really end up being basically a fight. This guy doesn't like being reminded that he has always leveraged big name goaltenders (Khabibulin in Tampa, Lundqvist in nYR, Bobrovsky in Columbus, Luongo in Vancouver)….pretty much guys with at least .910 career save percentage. Give him Felix Sandstrom and he's 4-18 and a gufus.

But tell his cult followers that…NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

  10. Danny did a disservice to the team, by not bringing in a goalie! Sandstrom and Peterson suck!!! In my opinion all three goals were soft and stoppable. Ersson needs a veteran to coexist with for a year or two. Someone capable to split the load.

  11. Sandstrom has an .823 save percentage this year.

The Flyers should be holding open auditions for backup goaltender.

If I'm Sam Ersson I'm extremely nervous right now. There is no way that idiot coach can ever play Sandstrom again. Ersson will have to play every single game until playoffs. And if he melts down from the pressure, well, I guess the 2 garbage dumps called Detroit and NYI get in by default.

  12. Torts' whole interview while answering the first two questions saying

"I thought we played really well. Couldn't score. Goalie [Stolarz] played really well. We can build off the whole game. We played a good hockey game."

Then immediately balks at reporter asking about sandstrom. After the reporter finishes he walks off. Genuinely hilarious. Poor reporter.
