Kopitar, picked after Bourdon. Best European prospect that year but the top ten were hesitant to pick him because he's from Slovenia.
Hronek's extension situation reminds of BJ MacDonald's trade from Edmonton to Vancouver. MacDonald was a top sniper for the Oilers and Vancouver thought it would be a great trade but it didn't work out and he quickly faded from the NHL to the minor leagues. Someone asked Glen Sather afterwards about the trade. Sather had this to say. "Anyone can score 50 goals a season if he's playing with Gretzky."
Filip Hronek has the potential to be a Anson Carter 2.0
